albinos has now been meaning to open communication channels with the baka pigmy tribe for quite some time, sadly to mixed results… this indeed represents a rather difficult task considering their take on the devil is a tall white man graced with white hair and red eyes! even though the baka people is a peaceful one, the legend goes that if they were to catch that albino devil, they would gut its organs out and turn those into an aphrodisiac concoction. strangely enough, albinos believes that his music just might be the best language to turn those antagonistic feelings into a communion, he even dreams of performing his tunes to the whole tribe, deep within the jungle, surrounded with exotic birds and the most hungry kind of predators! somewhat at times on the verge of irony, his music definitively trades with sketchy, raw and deep emotions, always sincere in the making: always a few steps away from the pre-shaped house and techno idioms, he offers his very own take on dance music, a most peculiar one. solely using old cheap hardware and an antique atari, the tracks at hand are one-take live performances, brutal incarnations of albinos simple virgin vision. as the quest for the baka people goes on, the antinote team is proud to help shed light on the journey of this obscure producer hailing from the grand north.

>spearhead< sees roska making a rare 140bpm trip, taking this rhythmical excursion neatly into dubstep tempo territory, creating an original cut which sits in its own world of tribal grime. the bassline pounds heavy, eventually rising upward before suddenly plummeting back down to the murky depths from where it came, and back round again. dis-hyeer quality dubstep music produced pon the other side of the looking glass.

with influences ranging from breakcore and jungle to techno and electronica, their sound is just as far-reaching with organic sample-based productions and synthetic, processed electronic beats. lakkers torann ep, their second release for blueprint, kick-starts with the dappling beats of summer rains, before moving onto the more experimental mustard crying. ciar takes us back to the dancefloor with ominous undertones, while static & amp is a simple but effective exercise. finally the diminutive but meticulous one note caps the ep off in fine lakker style.

michael ozone, the character whos just dropped his debut offering for the esp institute this july, is back with a remixed version of his jungle-tuff >perfect systems ep<. on side a, steve summers (a name thats been up in your face over the last year, and one of the key figures in our cousins l.i.e.s. camp) has taken perfect systems for an imperfect ride, jacking it up as expected while keeping the somewhat sinister mood of the original. on the flip, young marco (who has become quite a resident at the esp institute) strips down hetrotopia to its core, letting you realize how a well-programmed track can maintain its melodic and hypnotic sense, even when all thats left is percussion.

fresh out of melbournes reputed house scene, the tortoise is one of the hottest talents to emerge from the current wave of house breaking down under. a side the puffing tortoise captures the 21-year-olds precocious talent and aims it squarely at the peak time. working his trademark airy vocals around a familiar disco refrain and bubbling bass, he works the track into a sweaty climax and skilfully keeps it there throughout the midsection. turning in a late night chugger on their remix, berlin based canadians the mole and hreno ride an insistent pulse and insect like percussion. twisting the samples, they guide the track into a dark jungle of chattering sounds to temper the tortoise youthful exuberance. the analogue melancholy of keep on keepin on is all in the sweeping synths and twinkling effects. recoiling the tension, the chicago influenced track seeps through the speakers and will sound as good at home as it will during specially chosen dancefloor moments. rondenion approaches the title track with fearless disregard for the original, combining the swelling tortoise sound with something entirely his own. his addition of a funk fuelled midsection, really breaks the track down and adds another slice of character to an ep already brimming with it.

i know u combines tribal rhythms, pounding bass, insistent synth stabs, some distressed dialogue and a insanely large crash in the most maniacal way imaginable for what has to be one of the most devastating and original tunes for a very long time. sparse and spacious but yet rhythmical and energetic, lxc manages the ultimate arrangement balancing act here. the intensity increases gradually as the track progresses, culminating in an all-out tribal war ! a modern day jungle masterpiece from one of the most under-estimated producers around. on the flip, senses finally unleashes a track that decimated the very first technicality all-nighter back in 2004. 8 years later and that power is still very much in evidence! everybody want go heaven. nobody want dead – taking influence from the 1990 film marked for death, senses builds a dense vibe here, thick with imminent danger. rolling drums soon give way to a energetic ride-heavy break and pounding sub-bass hits. drum rolls drop and mentasms screech before the storm begins to subside half way through. the respite is brief however and after a complete silence the track reassembles, beginning with some insane slow to fast mentasm pitching which continues as a dark, slick reece begins to build with mysterious atmospherics. the tension is cut by the return of the drums – rolling along at first, before the mentasms and subs hit hard again, signaling a percussive onslaught! jungle just got catapulted into 2012.
