“ghostworks” on the a-side feels like blindly walking through a forest in the middle of a storm, with lots of ghosts whispering through the trees. on the b-side there is “footworks”, which sounds like an out-of-snyc robot drummer is getting chased away by the police. both tracks connect through their simple yet beautifully silly basslines, which are paving the way for some heavily pounding drumtracks.

when we started the bunker new york label in 2014 there was a short list of artists whose music we knew that we wanted to get out into the world. lori napoleon, aka antenes, was high up on that list, although at the time the brooklyn-based chicago native had yet to release her recorded music at all. five years on, after acclaimed records on l.i.e.s. and silent season, residencies at issue project room and bell labs plus a busy global touring schedule as both a dj and live performer, we are proud and excited to present loris ante meridiem ep under her antemeridian production moniker. she tells us that the antemeridian project is a special outlet for her more melodic synthesizer compositions and the name antemeridian refers to morning light and the meridian lines of the planet, the view you would have from above if you were already in the sky/space/seeing the atmosphere also from a great distance.

fockewulf 190 was a new wave group from milan formed in 1980 by vittorio barozzi aka victor life and dario dell aere. in 1979 the duo met outside a cinema and began a lifelong collaboration of projects: diamond dogs, ice eyes, demode boulevard and fockewulf 190, named after the model jet planes dario fanatically built. musically, the duo were inspired by the human leagues reproduction and john foxxs metamatic, while they took visual cues from the new romantics visage and ultravox. with the fockewulf 190 moniker, they created their own dark blend of italo disco and new wave, and released two singles in 1984 and recorded an album?s worth of music that eventually saw the light of day in 2010.

uncage founder marco faraone debuts on rekids, dropping four techno cuts on the label’s special projects series this march. the italian producer has had a busy few years touring north america, south america and europe, not to mention dropping releases on labels like ovum and tenax recordings. meanwhile his uncage imprint, which he runs alongside norman methner, has quickly cemented a reputation for quality house and techno, releasing music from artists like eduardo de la calle, pablo mateo and fabio della torre (under his corcos moniker). with its rolling percussion and a heady spoken word sample, find the song introduces a quintessential rekids record. thunderous kick drums and piercing stabs then form the high-octane arcane before the dark and ominous justice demonstrates industrial elements and floating atmospherics. tying it all together, tantalizing melodies join echoing effects for the final track titled layers.

the fourth installment in john osborns dred records series will be from fellow uk producer harsh puri who goes under the moniker reformed society. dred 004 consists of six tracks in total three that will appear on the vinyl release, followed by another three that will be digital-only exclusives. harsh puri aka reformed society debuted in 2015 with this being his sixth consecutive release in order. harshs productions caught johns eye, or rather ear, after being sent to him last year and resulted in this release of six solid prime time deep house stompers. packaged in an understated matte white sleeve with a black and white picture of brahma (the four headed hindu god of creation) handstamped on each cover by the label owner himself, this being a continuation of the human skull dred logo. one life opens the dimensions ep and is the track given to label boss john osborn for deconstructing and remoulding into his own specific vision each release will contain a rework from osborn. if you are familiar with johns previous work you will immediately recognize his characteristic resonating percussion, the tune being a deep house sci-fi storm expedition driven by a full luscious kick covering the tracks of chords from unsettled pads. the eps title track has ambient sonic rays flowing through it, being aptly named dimensions it is also the records warmest adventure, distorted percussion juggles sparse subaqueous melodic moments, and from here we go into the 12inches final moment, chasing titanoid. reformed society goes in with full yet silent force on this one. a warped bassline co-creates the groove with a particularly bouncy beat with sharp strings piercing though.

for the second release on their black series, ravage invited electronic music veterans al matthews and patrick walker to team up under their forward strategy group moniker. the last release of these legends was quite a few years ago, but the wait was worth it. their east port rangers ep kicks-off with nine and one, a hypnotic, heavy-loaded stomper containing some uplifting, loopy vocals. following is the most minimalistic track of the ep, lisp your way, yet it still has a lot of substantial punch and lash to it. the b-side starts off with heavy broken beats, combined with a classic rave sound, taking the listener back to the blistering sound of the nineties. finally, the ep oozes down with the track in abeyance, a haunting, down-tempo track with a melody to send shivers down your spine, which could be deemed a real creeper.

distant echoes has been building a name in the last few years since he debuted on the dystopian label in 2014 and toured all around the world, yet, he s been producing and playing electronic/house/techno music since almost two decades. as out-er co-founder, he previously released music before the beginning of his bond with dystopian. in the last years, while distant echoes has mostly focused on releasing on dystopian, out-er has indeed expanded its range of collaborations worldwide, by putting out music from juan atkins, orlando voorn, terrence dixon and more.

drumcode favourite harvey mckay returns to the label with a darker new sound. the glaswegian has been a regular contributor over the years, highlighted by the memorable the illusion of control ep in 2014 and his newer work with brother ryan under the alias moniker. earlier this year drumcode released the duos pentatonic ep and featured a mix on adam beyer s radio, which included black dolphin, kickstarting the hype on the track. named after the infamous russian prison, the title track is dark, tough, deeply textured brooding affair, with a menacing touch than runs through its core. mckay then brings in a huge synth line and changes up the dynamic of the track, giving it a powerful and driving feel. retox is a dark and twisted heavy-hitting cut, driven by aggressive drums and bassline, while a hypnotic synth line sustains a sense of tension throughout the six-minute track. concluding the package is cover up, a fantastic stripped back exploration into dark atmospheric techno territory that s tailor made for the winter warehouse raving season.

american dj & producer eric estornel aka maceo plex is set to relaunch his old moniker called mariel ito in 2018. the mysterious alias was active during the early 2000s and flourished from estornel’s experimentation on electro sounds before he would become known worldwide as maceo plex. he delivered a bunch of releases under this moniker during 2005 and 2006 including an ep on modern love and an album on scsi-av, to name a few. estornel will come back with a first mariel ito ep in 12 years. this new single titled 2e komst will land on january 26th on his fresh imprint lone romantic, that he launched with the recent maceo plex lp solar last summer. the ep brings two new tracks sintex49 and dmode90 that illustrates the electro edge of his sound with the recognizable obscure synths and electrifying samples of his productions. all tracks written & produced by eric estornel
