neo filigrantes new record in a slightly different outfit - vinyl in vinyl bags. this bag may also be used for other purposes as intended by many aesthetics aware djs or deejanes, whereby the records will lose their warming covers. not only will the design, but the sound aesthetics will be giving this release its individuality. on this 7 inch, two tracks are pressed with a somewhat spacey theme drive into moon morning and Étoile filante. both songs radiate trickily, a sort of melancholic mood from which will however, unfold its enchanting effect in different situations.
originally released in 2001. classic proggy house stuff. not to be missed

a classic bit of space disco from the french scene of the 70s. four long tracks that are all pretty darn moogy, and pretty darn great! the work here would fit nicely with some of the best keyboard heavy club of the us scene at the time! not exactly like some of the work on p&p, or the grooves of el coco over at avi - but not that dissimilar either, and often put together with a spare, simple approach thats a welcome contrast from overblown disco of the time! most numbers build up from a funky bassline and beats - adding in the keyboards with great relish, and really letting them jam and get crazy over the top. theres certainly a bit of cosmic fusion going on here too

excellent trippin techno track !! after mihalis presented himself as the next big thing he now brings his friends in the spotlights also. and not without a reason! these guys created a killer of a trackespecially for syndikaat. perfectly balanced beats with loads of sublayers and nice synths. mihalis himself liked the track so much that he decided to not only remix this once, but to remix this twice!! the result is amazing, simply 3 huge tracks on 1 12inch.
after unleashing the celebrated bare fist edits on us, the mysterious monsieur gateaux is back with a stunning original production. much is being made of the cosmic revival, and sure enough this does tick all the mid tempo, blissed out balearic boxes, but theres much more to love about dune, with its spacious ways and early 80s european electronic, dubbed out psychedelic vibe, shot through with a little eastern promise. its little wonder its been receiving major props from the bearded elders of sit down djing, off the back of a handful of early copies surfacing in the uk. as if that wasnt enough, the (not so) mysterious phoreski taken over the remix duties here!!!

hyperdub kick off 2008 they way they intend to proceed, with new tracks from a new artist. on her debut release, ikonika comes with her own very unique, warped yet soulful bleep sound. with shape shifting beats that switch styles every few bars its hard to pin these two tracks down... cos if it was easy, it just wouldnt be hyperdub. both tunes are one minute minimal, one minute maximal, driven along by ikonikas special combination of wonky synth and deep swingin sub bass melodies that place them somewhere between an early, blocky grime instrumental and the sweeter side of detroit techno ? except with better bass of course! who needs a vocalist when your synth can sing like this? quite how kode9 manages to keep unveiling new producers of such abundant talent is a conun drum, but one to be cracked some other time when we?re not so busy keeping up with his astonishing labels ceaseless march into the future.

finally, the first release from the vault of tyree cooper. his long awaited re-release of his classic track >i fear the night< on supa dupa classics. it was originally released on dj international records in the summer of 1986, and was a instant hit with all the hot mix shows at that time wbmx, wgci, wkkc, wcrx, etc... now in this millenium its becoming availible again, as it was in 1986 .side a. the vocal mix sounds as good as it did back then, thank to chic his sister and not the band. the b side, provides the instrumental which is cool for those who like to the total beat track with minimal vocals. this is the one to have in your classic collection. enjoy the first installment, and lets wait and see whats coming next for mr.cooper

the bass heavy >mallorca< is featured in remixes by mood music head honcho sasse and composts newcomers marbert rocel, while llorca from paris has turned >incredible< into a club banger. the brothers javi and luis aka wagon cookin are lucky buggers. their recent album >2faces< is getting tons of props from illustrious supporters like osunlade, king britt, laurent garnier, rainer trüby or llorca. then christian prommer picked up their first single >start to play< and conducted a true remix masterpiece reaping even more flatteries from ben watt, jimpster, ashley beadle, markus enochson… in summer time you can find the guys chillin on their favourite mediterranen rock: mallorca. they like this place that much that they even made a song about it which turned out to be the best kept secret from >2faces< - a bass heavy groove monster and deejays fave which finally sees its well deserved release on vinyl to be played out loud in the clubs. and as this wasnt enough reason to celebrate, mood music head honcho sasse lindblad and french connection ludovic llorca (of f-com fame) check in to deliever top notch remixes of >mallorca< and the b-side track >incredible<. last but not least compost newcomers marbert rocel join the gang to make their debut as remixers, and the result is quite impressive - althought their version of >mallorca< is a little bit more dancefloor orientated than their >speed emotions< album material. enjoy!

when i first started making the drum on my mpc it sounded like a battle of drums i then added some stabs from the machines, trying to make it sound like the oldschool chicago tracks. this track is all about editing, drum programming and of course the inimitable tap repeat touch that only the mpc can generate. the end result is ninted house, a pure floor killer for all you real house heads. the clash is not a reference to the band but i felt the track goes well with ninted house it has the same mpc groove. stabs and hip hop sampled voices that remind us of those kind of tracks, where editing and sound mixing are more important than the musical elements. its that breadth in house music that i love. enjoy those two floor killers and dance ur ass off! franck roger
TIDES (RIPPERTON RMX) / TILL THE END
12 Inch
27.02.08
a very special compost release with two very rare tracks! the a-side features a great remix of beanfields >tides< with amazing vocals from bajka - of course its not quite up there with the unbelievable carl craig mix but then that would be an uphill struggle. ripperton from the lazy fat people adds his moody, deep slant to the track, less anthemic than carl craig but a more than welcome alternative. this mix was available for a short time as bootleg with ricardo villaloboss remix of depeche modes >sinner in me< on the flip and sold out quickly despite the poor sound quality. finally, one year later, this great tune sees it official release completely remasterd in chrystal clear sound - get it, play it, love it! in 2006 the duo tom wieland and marc frank - better known as 7 samurai - crafted a fine remix of invisible sessions under their panoptikum moniker. when michael reinboth considered this remix for his new future sounds of jazz compilation the guys decided to contribute even a little bit more: an excusive new version which became a definitely highlight of the whole compilation. the panoptikum 2007 remix surprisingly takes a leaf out of innervisions book for a smooth deep houser with a slighty techy sound and a touch of detroit in the vein of Âme or henrik schwarz. in contrast to the vocal version included on fsoj this 12inch features the trippy instrumental version. ace stuff! two must have tracks - all killer, no filler!
PETER PAN / SNOW BORED
12 Inch
27.02.08
avocado # 1 was the secrect weapon in dc 10 last summer! big with: ame, matthias tanzmann, tanja volcano, steve bug,…!! #2 comes even stronger ! a: peter pan: following up from the immense track >elephant<, >peter pan< does not betray rune and sydenhams tough deep tech sensibilities. grinding along, this track blurs the boundaries between tech- house and techno. b: snow bored: >snow bored< is a deep and sophisticated piece of tech effervescence clearly demonstrating the serious approach sydenham and rune take in their search of new techno pastures.
sometimes, its still worth not to waste your youth with nonsense but to learn to play an instrument. like in the case of sebastian mullaert, who has learned to play violin, organ and piano, while his partner marcus henriksson rather came from kraftwerk and human league to electronic music. as son kite, the two swedes have already a well-known name in the psy-trance scene, and as minilogue, they now start to conquer the minimal and house world. with their rather unique sound, they manage the tightrope walk between minimal and trance and never allow us to put them into a drawer. especially with their debut on cocoon rec, minilogue present themselves in a different way, compared to their releases on traum or wagon repair. >jamaica< is a calm track at the first hearing and is perfect for building up a set. beginning with bird-like sounds, the track builds up slowly and quickly becomes very interesting and tricky, ramifies as organic as a climbing plant, and when the tribal sound emerges from the underground, this track has exactly what makes minilogue so special: organic matter and groovy sounds, worked into a minimal labyrinth with very much love for the details. all of that can also be found on the b side which seems to be more adequate for the morning hours, with its somehow spacey sound. with >jamaica<, mullaert and henriksson prove that they are floating on the very surface of the endless minimal ocean. and with their album >animals< being already in sight on cocoon recordings, one can be highly anxious of what is coming ahead, by minilogue and techno made in sweden

with his now second release on mauritius, marc vision might still be a newbie to the label, but definitely not to the scene. apart from being an experienced dj since ages with a deep bond to germanys superclub >tribehouse<, he can look back on diverse releases as vision & canedy (on scuba, avalanche, plusquam & hadshot rec.), vita (together with trance pioneer taucher on labels such as tracid traxx & on a mission), visiontool (together with marc o tool on andry nalins label superfly rec.) and finally as marc vision himself (on mauritius, poison, underworld & earregular rec.). >obsession< leaves no doubt being a sure floor filler. subtly but effective the track begins with a deep bassline and develops into a kooky rave-house-monster. >the finest< on the flipside tackles things deeper and more atmospheric, but when a bulky bassline suddenly says hello half way of the track, the unmistakable command is hands up!

DONT PANIC
12 Inch
20.02.08
huge new 12inch from the master himself! >dont panic – its automatic< – a title that is in many ways descriptive for a track that fires the creative starting shot for anthony rother in 2008. recently having been not more than consistent, rother heralded a stylistic reorientation of his music, however, with last years programmatic >moderntronic< ep. on the a-side, >dont panic<, with the vocoder voices that have come back after a long time now, stays closely associated with the sound and the aesthetic of datapunk - a unique vision of a futuristic abstraction between techno, disco and electro. the dataclash mix on the b-side then formulates the stylistic new beginning with a consistency that leaves the listener speechless. rarely before on datapunk has homage been paid to the imperative of energy so rigorously. going against the grain with extremely surprising noise effects, the dataclash mix is tailor-made even for reductionist dj sets in its psychoactive darkness. a thrilling foretaste of the third rother album on datapunk, announced for the coming year

BACKCOUNTRY CAMPING

ealier support by chloe, giles smith and karotte. maik loewen was already infected by musiccalitis in early years. and there was also his increasing fascination for beats. it did not take long till he started playing the drums and synthesizer. with the tb 303 being one of his first instruments he immediately became addicted to electronic sounds and became quite skilled in using these new devices in his own productions. during his apprenticeship at the recording studios he produced his first tracks. at the same time he started his collaboration with oliver hacke and gabriel ananda. they supported him to get his first record deals. following his first releases on tonsport >arnika ep<, karmarouge >mezcal ep< and trapez >one year one month< and remix projects for walter dahn und jorge gebauhr, his latest ep on poikerflat >even if you sleep<, maik finally appears on karmarouge: the >backcountry camping ep<. his deep understanding for functional sounds and extremly pumping beats, combined with the right mixture of genius and insanity, enables mike to playfully produce upfront club-compatible music. >i dont like musical restrictions, what counts is the feeling of the moment, expressed in acoustic waves<. a perfect mixture that metamorphoses the dancefloor into a seething gladiators arena and wich become one of this genius minimal techno anthems who seems to fly higher more and more. not to forget the huge portion of groovy funkiness. the three tracks on the ep nicely explore different nuances of maik loewens present sound
