christian löffler has already released two critically acclaimed albums, forest in 2012 and young alaska in 2014. both of which received major recognition and support. his next ep york, forthcoming on 2020vision narrowly avoided disaster after the laptop containing the demos was lost. after much perseverance, copies of the tracks were found and the ep came together. perhaps it was this fated start to york that imbues it with such a euphoric and stunning poignancy. either way, löffler has proved himself to be a compelling producer and after years of creating and releasing music he has become recognised as one of the best in the business. york complies with the consistency of his deep and emotive approach to production, making&#8232,,,,,,him synonymous with both a lightness of touch and a melancholia rarely heard in other producers.

radio slaves f.y.n remix 1 draws on the essence of daniel bell, combining a sparse drum track with occasional *sverh* vocal while f.y.n remix 2 kills the kicks completely and favours saturated bleeps and ominous atmospherics. f.y.n remix 3 continues the distorted motif but pairs it with pin sharp and powerful drums. a release that is sure to be deployed in multiple variants due to its jigsaw-like aesthetics.

another recent masterpiece from the rising barcelona label “modern obscure music”. this time the label is introducing a 12’’ with two long lasting analogue jams made from synthesizers like moog voyager and the mythical juno 80 on abstract rhythms created with a powerful roland 909. this is an essential record for collectors of relics focused on the club. to the mysterious, exotic and even tribal vibe, the record label adds a remix by daniel martin-mccormick, best known as ital, who has recently published his 3rd album with mike paradinas (planet mu) apart from also presenting some pieces from his own record company lover’s rock or in the prestigious workshop house. remixes by jmii and pettre, aster’s ex-band components, are also added in the digital version of it.

secretsundaze return with ss016 - dj qus mighty ss1 ep. secretsundaze and qu have developed a special relationship with him playing at many of their parties in london but also at their events in the likes of new york, berlin and barcelona. a full 3 track ep on a label outside of his own strength music is rare for dj qu so its serious coup for secretsundaze.

initially alfonso muskedunder was just the nickname for my newborn son alf, but the character soon started leading it s own life. interpreted for this single by a bunch of good people, such as deetron (jazzy-ish housey-ish), bullion (main vocal funky latin house mix... or not. it s vocal though), mungolian jetset (acid mambo deep in the forest, quattro formaggio pizza style) and the mysterious tangoterje (dub mambo especial), the icing on the cake finally came in the form of a fully animated music video courtesy of bendik kaltenborn and espen friberg. kind of tricky to explain exactly what goes on in that one, guess you have to see for yourself...

peder mannerfelt is known as the subliminal kid and as part of roll the dice alongside his own releases on digitalis, we can elude control and stockholm ltd. here we find him collaborating with simon haydo (also well established on dem) for their first avian appearance with five intense, unnerving and varied tracks.

vermillion lands with an inter-stellar remix package. french techno connoisseur agoria leads us on a minimal, spaced out trip through shining synths and swift vocal echoes. acclaimed house maverick and hot creations head honcho jamie jones has been closing his dj sets for the last few weeks with his own remix. its bouncing, old school house tip bounding beneath bright gospel turns of phrase, approaching near classic status with arms aloft receptions on the dancefloor. and finally berlin’s deniz kurtel, who pulls her penchant for polyrhythmic percussion to the fore, casting sweet tribal grooves across an original surely destined to become a dancefloor anthem this summer.

strategy aka paul dickow is back on idle hands for an lp following last years *return from the stars* 12 inch. *seeds of paradise* finds strategy boldly firing experimental electronics and dub back into outer space. like his work for zam zam, kranky and his own community library label, this latest outing from the portland-based producer nestles deftly between roots influence and sci-fi leanings. the result is a glistening 40 minutes of sonic exploration, never simplistic but never obtuse, which will sit happily on the turntables of sofa loungers and adventurous djs alike.

andrés is back on his own la vida imprint. as expected dez comes correct with his warm, sample-heavy version of detroit house music. -believin - nuances dez s killer hip-hop house sound with bold vocal sampling and deep brazilian influences. well worth the wait!

early support from raresh, fred p. julietta, dana ruh!! after a first year of spellbinding releases, sol asylum returns in 2015 with a fresh various artist’s compilation featuring three finely crafted tracks from the sol asylum crew to kick-start the labels second year. bringing together a family of artists who have been there since the very beginning. starting off with the odd boys danny and damian, we go all the way back to the first release with a brand new remix of broken spell. whisking us away to a parallel universe of this odyssey, this remix is masterly conjured into a percussive exploration of the planet of odd. following the odd ones, julie marghilano unleashes another side of sol asylum with dragon drops. she unveils her known atmospheric soundscapes but with a heavily detailed rhythmic twist, made by experimenting with her field recordings to create a more stripped down sound that shows her range and versatility. last but certainly not least, miss jools calima brings the ep to a triumphant closure like a mystical fog. the elements of the track melt into drowning synths with crackling percussion and the elegantly designed grooves that levitate us steadily through the hypnotic melodies. the percussive strength of each track, while still being diverse links this collaboration of like-minded family members together as a cohesive potion.

midgar is proud to introduce a newcomer for the third release. a great debut for the maltese cloned, delivering not less than 4 cuts with sapphire 1990 e.p. the record, way more straightforward and groove centered than the previous midgar outputs, opens with sapphire 1990, track that sounds like very nostalgic memories from a timeless rave. thanks to a genuine simplicity and the great arrangement of its elements, this first cut has the perfect characteristics to become a dancefloor anthem. on the same side, a live out-take from cloned’s repertory, the pendulum swinging synth-lines which dominate pretty direct rhythmics filled with hi-hats and claps over a costant background noise. belgassem as the first cut on the b side, is an absolutely heavy one for the label’s standards, made of deep kickin’ drums and haunting voices empowered by a really strong and obsessive acid-line. closing the vinyl, the slow (and again really acidic) submerging is like a lysergic vessel headed to more comfortable dimensions, where groovy drums are embraced by very bright heavenly pads. sudden death is instead a chilled-out broken beat interrupted by confused speeches and detroitish pads, resulting as a modern ritual of ascension towards higher spheres. corel drives the release to the end, recalling most of its main features: a restless run through misty soundscapes along a path studded of bells and overwhelming, sharp hi-hats.

the supremes, the most commercially successful girl group in pop history, were one of the jewels in motown records artist stable. given wonderful material by motown s amazing songwriters, the group scored numerous number one pop hits, as did singer diana ross when she left the group and went solo, and motowns bright, modern, and uptown image as a label had a lot to do with the way these ladies gracefully and elegantly presented themselves and took over a song. two dozen of those number one hits, both as the supremes and as ross solo, are collected here, including the timeless classics *come see about me*, *you cant hurry love*, *you keep me hangin on* and *stop! in the name of love*. the album also features a bonus remix of *you keep me hangin on*.

audiojack had a great 2014 with a collaborative release alongside lcd soundsystems nancy whang, eps on defected, 2020vision and tsuba, and remixes of romanthony and hot since 82 surfacing, here we see the ever on-point duo open up 2015 with some fresh material for their very own gruuv label. since launching gruuv back in 2010 the pair have unleashed material from the likes of huxley, jimmy edgar, darius syrossian, copy paste soul, a1 bassline and phil weeks, testament to their broadly attentive a&r approach with the imprint. now a year deep into their relocation to ibiza, audiojack have left behind their former uk influenced sound palette, and instead embraced their surroundings to envelop new material with the stripped back style of electronic music their new home turf is known for.

the globally trendsetting house and techno family that is visionquest now turns to a new pairing of sonny fodera & gene farris for their debut ep on the label. entitled ‘we work it’, the two-track affair comes with a remix by visionquest man lee curtiss. australian sonny fodera has been at the sharp end of the dance music scene for years now, clocking up huge hits both solo and with green velvet aka cajmere, releasing albums such as afterparties & aeroplanes and appearing on cajual, defected, suara and many more top labels. gene farris, of course, is a chicago house legend who has been active since the nineties, runs his own farris wheel label and has released close to one hundred definitive eps on relief, soma and many others. up first, ‘we work it’ is a lithe ritual of house funk with bent synths and slick mid tempo drums. a spoken word vocal snippet muses on the intake of various substances and the drums roll on infectiously below. it’s sure to be a standout anthem in the months to come given that vocal line and the spiritualness of the keys all around only adds to the effect. the first remix comes from lee curtiss. this one is a much quicker and more peak time bit of tech house with textured, dynamic bass and plenty of drum fills. it’s an involved, more cosmic and tense take on the original, that will build great pressure on the dance floor. all in all this is another on point package from visionquest that will get played far and wide

honey dijon has been part of the classic dna since day dot. a long-time friend to both derrick carter and luke solomon, honey has produced, remixed, dj’d and partied for and with classic for many years. although previously compiling a compilation for classic she has surprisingly never had her own release on the label. 2015 see’s honey releasing two separate eps on classic with both ‘’thundah’ and ‘burn’ being inspired by the classic 90’s nyc house music sound and produced in homage to honey’s friend frankie knuckles. the ep’s come backed with remixes from hnny, luke solomon, terrence parker and mark brydon all adding their own distinct flavour to honey’s concoctions. this exclusive double header vinyl ep release gives just a taste of what to expect

scuba s musical biography has been a story of constant change. over the past eleven years, his music has zigzagged through bass, techno and house, at times dark and contemplative, at others bright and anthemic. a look at his discography bears out this creative restlessness: from the shadowy rhythms of a mutual antipathy and triangulation, through the soaring melodies of personality and the cardinal -adrenalin- ep. claustrophobia is more than just the next phase in this development—it s a culmination of everything that s come so far. as its name implies, the record is tense and inward-looking, but it s also rich and dynamic, nimbly moving through a panorama of moods and styles. rhythms expand and contract from one song to the next, textural passages give way to shimmering strands of melody, found sounds and field recordings breathe life into ambient sketches. the album is modern and understated throughout, but also touched with something unrestrained: the exhilarating energy of classic rave.

having written the infectious theme song to the chicago party television series, we felt necessary to bring the pianist/composer into the foreground for his own proper two-parter. this very demo of -rush- made it into the hands of charles davis, who re-recorded the tune for a stray single on sutra records in 1982. included on ultra-high frequencies: the chicago party, -you bring me up- is completely unreleased and represents the pinnacle of early 80s r&b from chicago.

oddball space disco tracks compiled from library tracks composed between 1975 and 1978. big tip!! from the early 70s to the mid-80s, this self-taught musician composed about twenty albums of production and library music with generic cover art and titles (out of the way, magical ring, keys of the future, pulsations, more and more, etc.) that evoke interstellar travel. these experimental discs, made with love, humility and rudimentary means, had no ambition other than to accompany other peoples images

taking a few steps off it’s usual housy path, metereze presents a fresh new face and a more techno approach to dance music. it is melodie that signs the 4th installment and he is taking it deep into the realms of acid with 3 tracks that not only go well together but they are all meant to make you move in a big way.
acid sunday is as acidic as the name suggests it but in the end it’s the most poetic of the 3. the subtle pads are kinda dreamy but the 303 sounds make it super driving. on the same side we have rhythmico which is dark, percussive and powerful. subtle background bleeps complete the wandering synth that comes and goes but never really seems to go away.
housed on side b justa is a techno monster in its own right. sonically very close to the other two, this is by far the darkest track on this ep. and probably the strongest. techno infused house you may call it or whatever, this is the kind of track that puts you on a serious move whenever, wherever.
