cannataci records - a new record label run by ripperton & agnès cannataci records is a joint venture hosted by ripperton and agnès. the label is aimed at releasing rather unclassified music, pieces our friends compose or simply ourselves. the aim is at releasing music we believe make things go beyond the usual paths. the label name is a reference to our hopes in the newly appointed un special rapporteur on privacy, namely, joseph cannataci. frankly, we do not want to taint our music with politics, although we are simply firm endorsers of our own privacy and think everybody else should.

following their release of the michael turtle 12inch last year, music from memory now publish phantoms of dreamland a compilation of works by the uk musician recorded between 1983-1985. tip! this double lp features tracks drawn from the recording sessions for turtles album music from the living room and also collects material turtle recorded shortly after that, for an album which would never materialise. with three tracks taken from music from the living room’ and the rest of the compilation entirely made up of unreleased tracks, phantoms of dreamland draws on an illustrious period for michael.

yalta is a resort city on the southern coast of the crimean peninsula surrounded by the black sea. this place has heavily influenced a talented artist pavel milyakov also known as buttechno. this album is his dedication to yalta, but it’s not just about geographical location, it’s about a special and sacred state of mind and soul that the producer calls -yalta-. this very personal work of a mature author reflects his deep and multifaceted approach to the research of the sound language.

mysterious hardware tinkerer stephan stl laubner is back with a 3 track + locked groove ep on the london based imprint mutual friend recordings entitled listen up! mind puzzlin is exactly that with a luscious lead line that will twist your head accomponied by stls signature rough and overdriven percussion. smile function has a more ominous tone with repeated guitar plucks that plant themselves into your consciousness. stl builds the groove expertly whilst retaining an other-worldly feel to the track. wrong is a real groover with a growling bassline accomponied by weird and wonderful interwoven patterns coaxed out of stls synths. the locked groove, titled listen up! loop is a nice bonus for the more adventurous dj out there.
