the second of march�s trio of killer polytechnic youth 45s is a mighty extended piece of slow building berlin school-esque electronica extended over 2 sides of a 33rpm disk, recorded by adam leonard, initially from a batch of 18 tracks recorded at varying times over the last six years.
�entkommen� is his first release for the label here, and both artist and label rather liked the idea of one extended track across two sides of a 45, whereby the listener must flip the disc at a half way point to continue the piece. it struck us as increasingly unusual and works a treat here...
adam has amassed a number of acclaimed releases in varying styles, and across a number of esteemed labels over the years. last year�s full band release �invaderband� being shortlisted for a northern ireland music prize 2017 and was 6music recommended. not to mention previous releases in collaboration with the owl service and p.g six.
his electronic home recordings are all well worth investigating and polytechnic youth proudly releases the first fruits of those sessions right here. a numbered, limited edition vinyl only 7� hand numbered to 250 copies.

the score introduces several new themes interwoven throughout the film, including identities for the character rose tico, the interactions between rey and luke skywalker on ahch-to island, and the resistance�s desperate escape from the first order. the score also reprises numerous themes and motifs introduced in the force awakens, including those for the characters of rey, kylo ren, poe dameron, and snoke, as well as the -march of the resistance- and -the jedi steps-. themes introduced in the original trilogy return as well, including -luke�s theme-, -leia�s theme-, -the rebel fanfare-, and the -force theme- from a new hope, -yoda�s theme-, -the imperial march-, and -han solo and the princess- from the empire strikes back, and, -luke and leia- and -the emperor�s theme- from return of the jedi. excerpts of the -tie fighter attack- cue, first heard in a new hope and reprised for return of the jedi, are also included. -the emperor�s theme- is the only returning theme to not be included within the official soundtrack presentation, it occurs in the film when snoke tortures rey for information. the score briefly quotes -aquarela do brasil- by ary barroso in its -canto bight- track as a reference to the 1985 terry gilliam film brazil. it also contains a brief quote of williams�s own theme for the long goodbye (co-composed by johnny mercer) during finn and rose�s escape, although this was not included in the official soundtrack release.

paper tree sneaked out into the world for a moment a few years back and then vanished. lee burridge loved the track so much that he continued to harass rebelski, sometimes standing outside his window in the flower bed, for weeks on end until he finally agreed to let lee release it on all day i dream. not content with a single track lee went back to rebelskis garden and tapped on the window repeatedly until he agreed to make some more beautiful tracks. obviously pestering producers in this manner bares fruit. the paper tree ep ranges from a beautiful solitary solo piano piece that wouldn t be amiss in a british period piece drama where someone dies unexpectedly leaving the survivors to deal with it, all the while maintaining their stiff upper lip. fly the kite made us want to go outside and do just that. so we did. it was epic. circles and squares joins paper tree as one of those dance floor moments best experienced with ones eyes closed. myriad is the sound of a young lady robots jewelry box (yes, we predict robots will be wearing jewelry in the future) that she(bot) pines to hear when she s all grown up and rusty. omoshiroi is, well, its just so damn pretty. good work rebelski. good work.

bleid remixed naive001�s togetherness by violet, and that dope rework made it to rroxymore�s bag (as heard at berghain) and was played on bbc radio 6, rinse fm and +++. the pair became friends, started bouncing ideas about production techniques, rap skills and the importance (or lack thereof) of the classics in dance music. making more music together happened naturally.
naive002 feels like a continuation of naive�s first release in some ways: the jungle-inspired chopped breaks, sonic synth work and oneiric pads are still there but gain a heavier, perhaps more somber tone at times, exploding into depth or ecstasy at others.

bordello a parigi is on the hunt once again, this time journeying to southern france to unearth an up and coming sect of synthesizer sorcerers: blind delon. hailing from toulouse, the triumvirate of mathis kolkoz, théo fantuz and coco thiburs offer a sound that combines indie and wave with seemingly effortless execution. the soft interlude of -sometimes- introduces assassin. a groove grips pulsing rhythms, subtle strings and throaty vocals in the captivating -sombre soleil-. those vocals become even deeper in the dreamy -j ai honte-. smoke spirals around keys in this brooding work of guitars rifts and bruised egos. the title piece perfectly melds warm strings with cold synthlines for a superb climax to an ep that exudes modern synth-wave chic.

inside out is a brand new series that invites djs and producers to blur the boundaries between traditional artist albums and mix compilations. coming from aus music label head and dj-kicks curator will saul, the concept encourages artists to showcase their own music and or the music of those in their own individual circles. the mix will be release digitally and on cd, while a selection of the tracks will also be available on double gatefold vinyl. each instalment will feature 100% new and unreleased music. it is a chance for artists to take sole creative charge, a&r as they see fit and then commission brand new music specifically for the cause. depending on who is at the helm, inside out will take different forms: producers may wish to represent their own sound with only music they have made themselves or with close collaborators, while djs and label heads may wish to reflect the sounds and scenes that surround them. the results will be a window into an artists world that works as a coherent mix, but also as a treasure trove of fresh new music that steps outside the usual lines of a dance album. the idea stems from will sauls own approach in the club, which often finds him seeking out brand new and unheard music to play for the first time. that feeling of taking people into the unknown is one that reminds him of the energy and excitement of his early days as a dancer.

those wizards of digging psychemagik doing the business once again. hot on the heels of last year s monstrous gotta hold on me / wildman they re letting folks know that they were still out there searching in the darkest recesses of the last 40+ years of popular and unpopular music, and boy oh boy are they good at it! the trip lives up to it s name. the track kicks off with some ultra beefed up psychedelic shenanigans, swirling, cacophonous sounds whirl and sweep and gradually drag us into the holographic tunnel, gradually giving way to some heavyweight drums and percussions and unfurling into a muscular psych-discoid beast. this one will send the kids crazy and will undoubtedly cause some damage in the club, both sonically and mentally. but what is the original? we hear you say... answers on a postcard please. sisters of the moon on the flip-side is a very different animal - all laid back, laconic steel-guitars and thundering slo-mo drums and percussion. the dark side of a rural witchcraft dream exposed here, almost menacing... and then? those vocals spring out of the mix amidst the throbbing sexually charged atmosphere and drag us back into the realm of near reality with sultry moans and groans. this one s woozy alright, but in the best possible way. so wrong, it s right and possibly the natural soundtrack to too many of those strange shots that that guy in the weird hat gave us earlier when we entered that country pub. what guy? i hear you ask.... ultimate freak-disco and deepest druid funk for the discerning and psychedelically inclined record consumer.

edmondson first came to my attention with his lobster theramin distributed release, flamingo tripper, on his own label lissoms. or so i thought. turns out he was actually a guy who used to serve me in one of my favourite pubs in newcastle. back in those days he was a dub step / drum and bass kid, and as per the trend with all of those guys, hes now showing the house heads how its done, with a much keener feel for sound design, groove and a better ear for a sample than 90% of us lazy people who cut our teeth on a 4/4 beat. edmondson (or sean as i did know him and how i know him once again) is really one of the most exciting producers out there right now for me, and i couldnt be happier that weve reconnected and hes kindly allowed me me me to present some of his amazing music. we have love is an instant classic, and psg is a work of pure emotive art. to remix we have love, ive enlisted dauwd (fresh from his amazing album on technicolour). sean suggested him, and i jumped on the suggestion as he was one of the first people i met when i moved to berlin 4 years ago, and ive been trying to figure out a way of working with him since. he takes a we have love down a kind of more delicate and steppy route. its very pretty, but also really makes you want to dance. to remix psg i asked asok. again, i thought i first met asok about 7 or 8 years ago, when he came and played for a party i used to throw in newcastle. after becoming good friends over the years, we got chatting and it turned out that we were both in magaluf in 1998, and may have actually been involved in the same street brawl. thats not something either of us are proud of, but its definitely food for thought. i�m biased, but i think his remix is my favourite thing he�s ever done, and i love everything he�s touched musically to date, so thats probably an even bigger endorsement than it first seems. his version is big.

echovolt is thrilled to finally bring you the work of the first greek producer on their growing reissue catalog offering two ultra-rare recordings that lived on the shelf for exactly two decades. the then 16-year old starcount recorded those two stripped-down cuts straight to dat tape in his bedroom studio in athens during the late 90s between cutting classes and sailing in the aegean sea. despite his young age both calma and jeraldine showcase top notch production skills with solid arrangements featuring the typical vocal samples of the period underlined by hypnotic melodies, jazzy chords and a densely populated pallet of drum hits. it is most likely that the above mentioned tracks might be the earliest detroit influenced productions ever made in greece around that time! suitable for night cruising and any kind of rides with friends and family!

adrix (p stands for produtor) is one of those contemporary puzzles: born and raised in lisbon, of angolan descent, he moved to manchester at 19, three years ago. we can say the nervous interplay between bass and beat stems from just that. fierce, techy, twitchy grooves run through the whole of -Álbum desconhecido-. it�s in the blood. not surprisingly, adrix has a soft spot for drum �n� bass but that�s because it clicked with the adrenalin rush leaping out of kuduro, his true long-standing obsession.

sis, the alias of burak sar, returns once again to crosstown rebels. following on from releases such 2012s round pen, 2015s sombra india and last years the blindside, the german-born producer heavily influenced by his turkish roots- presents us with this tribal triple-threat. sis explains that it was sending his first ever demo tape to crosstown rebels in 2004 that initiated his relationship with the label and tells us to expect some rolling dance floor breakers. karmir nur gets the ep underway. sensual strings abound with a heady, tribal chant that lulls you into a state of hypnosis. tima rolls along, building slowly as the layers pull you in deeper still towards those familiar strings. dandini brings back the tribal chanting. the vocals are backed by mesmeric drums, perfect for an intoxicating, dance floor procession. burak sar has released a number of records on renowned imprints such as get physical music, mobilee and cocoon recordings as well as running his own successful label, cocolino records.

the pampa, filled with enigmatic lines and geoglyphs known as nazca, gives name to this record label. nazca records was created to collect the music that viracochas (beings of other worlds), shared with the ancient nazca people, known for their love for music, dance and nature. these recordings represent the music that was once played in another time and that will be played again in the future�they are the memories of the future. each vinyl and recording tells a story of the memories from each ceremony that took place in the pampa colorada, from music that was played, and of the figures and lines that the nazcas used to show their gratitude to the viracochas. maybe you�re wondering how its possible or how we were able to capture those recordings in nazca records to then press to vinyl. it has been discovered that if an intelligent or exotic species wanted to connect to others, they would use radio signals as they can travel any distance and require very little energy to send. the logical wave frequency to communicate would be 1420 megahertz, which is the frequency irradiated by the neutral hydrogen, when its atoms interact between each other. based on this info and knowing that hydrogen is the most abundant element in space, and after a lot of tries, in the end we were finally able to make the first contact with the viracochas! this third vinyl contains recordings of the viracocha thodoris triantafillou. a disc, a journey, a history, a contact narrated along 2 tracks and completed by the remix of one of the most famous viracochas remembered love over entropy.

the 70s saw a growing interest in so called dub versions, an approach based on deforming, stripping and rebuilding the original tune and came known as dub music. king tubby along with other dub wizards such as, lee perry & prince jammy, were responsible for this exciting new dimension to jamaican music. however, most of these dub albums were pressed in very small quantities and disappeared quickly. one of those albums is dub expression by errol brown and the revolutionaries. no gimmicks on this one, he uses simple echo and delay, a few vocals sliding in and out, separate instruments floating on top, with respect to the melody of the tunes. a mixture of dub and instrumentals. enjoy these super tracks!

following our first release with opal, which aimed at the dance and the bodies, we wanted with this second ep to reach to people�s mind. as a geneva-based techno label, it was fundamental to work with our local hero: opuswerk. he�s already been working outside of the country with artists like francois x and labels such as arts, semantica or dement3d. it was time we involved him in our project. through this ep, opuswerk clearly shows what he knows and does best. much like his dj sets, he connects dots and layers in unexpected ways, like a rhizome connecting different multiplicities. inspiration for the original tracks came from designing systems of independent yet connected sounds, where events are triggered, un-triggered and alter other events, each behaving on their own. as one of those elements, the artist acts as a guide, directing them from one place to the next acting as and with the machines. the -mot d�ordre- is about becoming one of the machines, blending techniques with vibes and catching them like ever escaping dreams. the result is two uniquely sounding spaces, either filled with raw energy like on extensum or with subtle and serene ever-evolving bleeps on spatium. those two extremes are fitting to how we want present the multiple dimensions of our artists works to the world. the same logic went into choosing the remixers, with whom opuswerk had a human connection with. inland and antigone need no introductions, having both established their sound on labels like countercharge or token. each brought their own re-interpretations of the original tracks bringing them closer to the dancefloors.

on the a side the two tons version is much longer than the original, and remastered for a full effect on the dancefloor. we love this tune so much, we played it a lot already and its still rocking so we thought we share it with you on a fat 12inch for more disco soul gospel pleasure.
the b side is an amazing track from seawind that everybody who is into jazz funk or latin jazz with vocals will dig it. this version is different than the original, we kept only the more dancefloor friendly parts and we extended the beginning and end of the track with only drum rhythmic reprogrammed for mixing easily in your sets with other tunes. please enjoy as much as we do because we love those edits, we love those tunes, we love music we are very happy with this release because its really really good!

neil landstrumm and tobias schmidt are two men responsible for modern day electronic music. when the sound crawled out of the primordial speaker, this pair were there to welcome it. for more than twenty years the two have worked together as sugar experiment station and arrive on shipwrec for their first collaboration in eight years. this is a 12- born in burning furnaces of bass. moulded in those low frequency fires, smelted in the thumping heat, are beats, beats hardened like steel before being shaped into lancing points. with these tools of rhythmic brimstone ses goes about destroying dancefloors before reinventing them. chords are rolled in gravel, doused in distortion and rinsed in static. a style forged from the friction of pistons, the sweat of the assembly line, before being dipped in a searing liquor of circuitboards and molten microchips. ses - sugar experiment station - shattering every stereotype.

this track could previously only be experienced by seeing the trio play live or by watching our documentation of the performance, until now.

rrose and lucy need little introduction as heads of eaux and stroboscopic artefacts (respectively), their influence on the direction of techno in the last five years is undeniable. rather than crafting a style to be imitated, they pursue an approach that welcomes unpredictable results, with the intention of stimulating uncharted areas of the mind through sound and rhythm. the first lotus eaters collaboration appeared on stroboscopic artefacts in 2016. for their follow up on eaux, the pair go deeper into lucy s analog modular forest, searching for those essential elements that will yield alchemical results. inner membrane undulates with ring modulated tones that stretch like liquid metal, patiently building up dancefloor energy with only the barest of percussive elements. on the b side, inverted limb takes a similarly minimal approach, utilizing two tones, a bass drum, and hi-hats to maximum effect. the ep closes with seeds of discontent a swirl of feedback and noise that is both soothing and unsettling, leaving us wondering what will come next

mona musique returns with more delectable deep house for its second release: the debut ep from veteran dj lea lisa, featuring rich medina. consistently flying the flag for house music for over 15 years, lea lisa is one of those understated djs responsible for pushing the sound, regardless of electronic trends. a mainstay through her residencies in lyon and toulouse and integral involvement in respected record store innerdisc, lea has been cultivating her production skills for some time behind the scenes, until now. a long time friend of label boss nick v, playing each other s parties back in 2004, mona musique presents its second release walking la mona. inspired by the work of her mentor larry heard and her close friend kerri chandler, imagine that is classic house: simple, effective but above all emotive. complimented by the haunting deep tones of rich medina, his conscious spoken words echo discontentment around the current political (or global) climate. on the flip side lea reminisces of the early 90s with a revived spirit on intention. certainly one for the dancefloor, it is lea lisas subtle production work in the beats, synths and organs that make the difference here.
