defeating apathy by creating his own world, abdulla rashims music thinks before it speaks. untangeled energy and drive breathes life into the rigid rhythmic structures, where the wild, almost primal, core illuminates the heartfelt and soulful layers within in his music. this musical contradiction between thought and letting go, acts as the base foundation in abdulla rashims music.

for those who caught furness four 4 the floor ep, and are familiar with his work, this release is further evidence of how much of a fledgling purveyor of deep grooves and heavy-hitting rhythms furness is.
das fünfte album des uk-indie-rock trios gleicht einem befreiungsschlag: schöne und trotzdem unkonventionelle songs treffen auf improvisationen und experimente.
that dope loop pinning down sascha dive as cocoons deephouse wunderkind wouldnt really hit the nail on the head however it isnt far from truth. compared to most other artists of this genre he can for sure be classified as a young gun but there is no soundproof for his age in his music at all.
its been over half a year since youand:themachines album behind first saw the light of night. now its time to presents a nice remix package with some of the favourite artists of martin.

asan has been making music for some time. he is geographically the closest artist to lampuka records, yet lamp004 has taken us the longest to complete thus far. we had hoped this to be asans debut release but we were pipped to the post whilst he was on his travels. gladly though we have what we think is a superfluous release…and well worth the wait. no remixes here, just four solid bangers.
the 50th instalment in the phoenix g series is a special one. a 4 track counting coloured vinyl affair of course from the hand of the labels head honcho and sole artist mr.g. proper machine funk drenched with synths and the significant samples make this 12 inch a journey through mr gs different sounds and mindstates.
this double vinyl includes two volumes in the acclaimed instrumental series from mf doom plus alimited edition 7 inch with two beats from the kmd kitchen.

from the often indistinct morass of modern hip-hop comes something so singular as to merit special attention wrote the guardian about: brownstudys tell me more about bubble album, released on third ear in 2005. a most soulfully cerebral volume of no-pose wisdom. mojo wrote, musically: brownstudy evokes the clammy, distressed soul of sly stones riot, and the lush visions of 4 hero. life well lived is brownstudys new album. 11 songs (9 lyrical flows and 2 intrumentals).
wild oats is proud to present jay daniels karmatic equations ep. this is his second release, the first being *scorpio rising* out on sound signature. although a newcomer, jay is already known for his rhythmic vigor and twangy synth leads. starting out as just a dj, jay has seamlessly made his way into production, he is a natural and already being praised by some of the best in detroit. the 5 track ep comes as double-vinyl and outfitted in a full color reverse board record sleeve and full color center labels.

having lent her talent to the recent floating points ensemble ep, label mates and long time collaborators fatima and floating points once again join forces to sprinkle a little magic over the airwaves. deep, warm, and soulful in its entirety, the follow you ep showcases the natural chemistry between the london based/swedish born singer and the ever impressive boy wonder sam shepherd. the eps four tracks are a cohesive expression of fatimas inner thoughts and feelings, wearing a warm heart boldly on its sleeve as the pair journey through soul, gospel, blues and house... allowing the songstress to pour her emotions over floating points fuzzy, full bodied beats and keys like it was honey over a pancake.

remutes greatest hit zuendli receives an awesome remix treatment by chicago legend dj rush furthermore included the original tune (remastered!), a massive remix by the one and only technoviking and last but not least a crunchy uk-techno-stomper remix by bit reduction.
der baltimorer dj und produzent mit seiner 12inch zwischen house, hip hop, dub und techno. feat. osunlade (yoruba records). limited edition of 500 copies on clear vinyl.
there is some disco cockiness right here. the right amount of funky with a pinch of house and many other things that well discover as we peel back the layers with ease.
label-head anthony parasole and analogue warlord phil moffa are back to the corner! both have beaten a rugged path since dropping their first collab, with parasole dropping a quickstrike one-sided corner cut amongst others, and moffa going on to work with dj spider for a killer 12inch.this new ep represents their best work to date.

THE ROOTS OF HIP HOP - FROM CHURCH TO GANGSTA (2X12 LP)
2x12 Inch LP 10.01.14
hip hop did not develop in a vacuum - its roots can be traced back to the earliest afro-american music, and the folks who were influenced by these sounds along the way. this lp compiles some of the great recordings that showcase the spoken word and street culture put forth from the 1920s through the 1960s that would go on to influence the entire rap music genre. the themes will be familiar - religion, politics, black experience, badass gangsta rap, speed, sex, drugs and rock n roll. lets listen to the lessons that the hipsters of the past taught the rappers of today.
dogmatiks fine form continues with another solid 12inch from peace division, with remixes of their classic club therapy. remixes come from dan ghenacia and red rack em.
5th instalment from material va series. mario ochoa, redondo, riccardo and more are on the pipeline for the massive must buy on matrialva005. supported by joris voorn
the on-going celebration of delsin reaching 100 releases continues here with the 4th in the series of 100dsr releases. featuring key label friends redshape, d5 and area forty_one, its another compelling package.
nobody knows where these guys were beforehand, but this record is a real hit. a new release has emerged from an equally new label - detroit techno archive it reflects the labels name perfectly. the 12inch recording includes six wonderful detroit techno tracks, from a couple of artists. the first associations that come to mind are detroit legends like underground resistance, derrick may, stacey pullen, kenny larkin, and octave one. youll find some old-school techno with a rich groove, multilayered melodies, and some great stories behind them. this is real hi-tech jazz.
its been a big year for breach, a.k.a. ben westbeech. his track jack hasnt just blown up on danceoors across the globe: its laid waste to them. in the process, jack got to number 9 in the uk charts. not bad considering westbeech has always seen breach as an underground thing.
there is music that is made from the outside looking in. the textures are vibrant and the beats bang, but there is a hollow radiance at the core. it is pantomime. then there is los angeles alfred darlington aka daedelus, who has released a dozen albums in a dozen years straddling countless sub-genres. they are united by his insistence on letting his emotions guide the blueprint. if you have listened to his music, you understand. there is a balance between the direct and the obtuse that cant be articulated in words. this is part of the subtext for drown out, daedelus most elegiac album. his debut for anticon is a heart-on-sleeve meditation devoted to loss, coded language, and the maddening failures of communication. and yet you can still bob your head to it.
the vinyl lp comes with code for download of the full album.
james johnston is another man who s been on a bit of a purple patch of late - not least thanks to his work on another fledgling label, nathaniel jays the love revolution
1 per customer a gem of the parisian underground electronic music world for those who know, voiski hits us with three tracks of high bpm techno which at points reminds us of early steve bicknell or oliver ho. the b-side hits hard with the epic from sea to sea a monstrously beautiful building track that does all the right things in the right places just when you want them to happen. a big release to say the least
