it was such a hot day in may 2014, we all remember, moscoman drop by his home town of tel aviv to do a party with krikor aka crackboy as his guest, they had a few hours to kill just before the gig, mosco rang up his old compadres and brothers in arms red axes, to see what they were up to, they were just hanging at the studio, “we’re coming” he said, and the rest is history, thanks to the taxi driver abed that was waiting downstairs to take them to the gig, they had vocals to finish this track and mosco had the chance to play this track that night already. powered by a uncompromising mix from no doubt one of the best producers of electronic music, roman flügel, and another killer by red axes, not a lot is left to do but wait for this monster record to drop.

this opus was recorded in a room transformed into a studio, where countless hours of work happened on an old computer, with trips back and forth to the grocery to buy liters of soda. in between soundtrack, jazz-funk and house, the beginnings of this ep find their roots in the encounter between lucien and dj gregory (point g), spiritual guide, who pushed into an introspective work, where the feelings were ultimately revealed sincerely. this ep is also the meeting of 4 musicians whove known each other for a long time and, together, form lucien & the kimono orchestra.

the material collated on this third release from heavenly music corporation was composed specifically for st. giga in japan, a satellite broadcast radio station transmitting ethereal audio harmony 24 hours a day. what made this station otherworldly was its programming, motivated by tidal movements, the aquatic ebbs and flows of each day synchronised to the activity and intensity of the music broadcast.

with this ep best works records would like to pre-sent a new artist - luis junior. no stranger to the game! madrid-based luis junior has been a dj and music producer for more than 20 years. in 1993 he re-leased his first 12-inches starting to build a disco-graphy of genre-defying music that pushes forever forward, designing new stylistic frameworks and breaking new artistic ground with each successive production. luis has grown into one of the most cut-ting edge and inspiring artists in spanish electronic music. his versatile production skills are clearly displayed here from soulful and folkloristic influences to techno. the first track on the ep “don’t give up on me” fea-tures singer sobi thurairatnam with sultry vocals and a stong pop-appeal. d-nox and beckers tranform it into a club burner for the early hours. floidos on the back-side is more of techno-orientated banger and with pasion luis junior manages to integrate some spanish flamenco sounds without getting to obvious.

the motorcity boys are back with loveit003 a fresh sounding 4 tracker strongly reflecting the diversity of styles found at their parties. lds kicks thing off with 909 to heaven, a jacking and balearic workout with a rootstrax, chicago style bassline keeping the floor hypnotised until the small hours of the morning. snares, kicks & rhodes is a more laid back jam. lazy warm pads and a slow winding sub bass rise and fall intermittently only to be interrupted by a lo-fi distorted bass that snaps you right out of that trance. nico brun opens the flip side with an absolute banger, hazily reminiscent of that 90’s warehouse rave. lds and nico brun close the ep with an atmospheric collaboration perfect to start or end the night with. splashy beats keep up the footwork whilst pulsating synth sounds slowly wind together and drop with a beautifully crafted sample that’s guaranteed to bring some sexyness back to the dance floor. this ep will definitely be a regular addition to your record bag to spread those warm summer party sounds. bruno farace early support: xdb (echochord / dolly): debut ep? congrats! end monologue is my favourite.
