geno records first release comes to you from belgium based dan d. dan comes from a traditional of both classical and jazz traditions. dan also developed a love of latin dance in his youth. once moving to berlin in 2001, dan was further influenced by the house sounds of the original panorama bar. dan himself has continued on to dj some of berlins best parties/venues including beatstreet, watergate, arena, maria, and the new panorama bar. club der visionäre has also been very important to dans musical growth. dan has had the opportunity to cut his teeth playing 10 hour marathon sets during his regular appearances since 2004. furthermore, he appeared in clubs like rote sonne (munich) and decadance (gent, belgium). friends like tobi neumann and dinky got him into production in 2003. dans first vinyl release on district of corruption lead to praise from some of the best djs in the business. the african market is quite an evolved sophomoric release for dan. the title track, african market, is a pulsating but stripped down organic percussive journey. afro-cuban rhythms lovingly exchange energy with warm analog synths and crisp techno electronic beats. the flip side, el baile, is a slow burning house jam. el baile features eerily reverberated studio recorded vuvuzela, crisply saturated jazz keys, and the same pumping afro-cuban rhythms that sets dans sound apart from others.

tobis career started in the year 2005 under the pseudonym joey approx. at that time he was already playing in well-known clubs such as rote sonne and harry klein - both located in the beautiful capital of bavaria munich.in 2008, he could convince his good friend johannes heil to make him part of his label metatron recordings. his first release immediately was a huge success and entered the top-50 of the techno-charts in europe and in japan even went into the top-10. after playing together with artists such as johannes heil, spektre, acid maria, piatto, tim green, daniel schlender and many more, he is still on his search for that special sound and one thing is for sure: he s gonna find it!

marcus sur lives 30 minutes from cologne in essen and has recorded for several labels in the past like pottheads with whom he reached no 1 in the dcc charts with his >stop the junk< release. his latest tracks were released on highgrade and keno records. marcus sur played bass in a band but stopped in the 90ies to get involved in djing which lead to famous residencies in clubs such as >rote liebe< and >baikonur< where he was also responsible for the musical programme. with his release >down with the ship< on trapez ltd he shows his love for minimal music. his definition of minimal though has more in common with robert hood than with recent developments due to the fact that his love for rare groove and deep house music has been part of his life. his 2 track vinyl is authentic and cool and speaks the language of the coal mining district in germany, the ruhrpott. house music has always been big there and lead to the founding of one of the first house distributers in germany, ntt . marcus sur is momentarily resident at the gold club in essen where he will celebrate his release on the trapez label night (26th of september)
