wie es scheint sind alle begeistert von santa cruz track mais uma chance, einem der herausragenden songs auf der letzten too slow to disco brasil edition. der berliner jack tennis hat für uns seine magischen hände an den track gelegt und eine dj-freundliche yacht-disco version abgeliefert, die santa cruz selbst so begeistert hat, dass er uns persönlich darum bat diesen remix zu veröffentlichen. jack tennis ist ein berliner produzent, der kopf vielerlei projekte ist. er veröffentlicht seine eigene musik unter dem namen hotlane (gomma records) und liefert stetig disco-edits für das einflussreiche uk disco label midnight riot (von yam who!). um die veröffentlichung abzurunden, konnten wir die italienische rework/edit legende les inferno überzeugen uns seinen unveröffentlichten track brazilewis einen chill-out slo mo groover zur verfügung zu stellen. die nummer findet sich schon seit einiger zeit in jedem dj supermarkt set! les inferno veröffentlicht auf samosa records, eines der hippsten neuen edit/rework labels, das eigentlich strictly vinyl ist. seine tracks wurden z.b. schon von niemand geringerem als moodyman in seinen sets eingesetzt. eine streng limitierte 10inch mit den beiden tracks wird es erst ende august geben.

off the back of the recent gumba fire compilation, soundway selects more sure-fire disco burners: a 4-track, dancefloor-orientated ep drawing from the heads label out of south africa.

brother and sister eric and arrontette mcclinton had been recording for many years. around 1976 they did a 45 release together on honey records called -where you are- under the their christian names, although eric was spelled eryke! the single didn’t have much success but both brother and sister still went on to be amazing backing singers working for legendary producers mike theodore and dennis coffey. whilst they were under the watchful eye of the production team they recorded some material again and a duo for theo/coff in a bid to get them another record deal and show their capabilities. these songs never got releases. eric became and prolific song writer and also joined the group high fashion. we are super pleased to finally release the shelved songs from 1978. this in one of two releases by the duo.

its not often you stumble upon a 9 piece soul band, who were so close to signing a deal with mca’s new subsidiary source records. but group politics and other factors got in the way, and the band shelved what music they had recorded. no reels surfaced but fortunately a member had kept some of those 1978 recordings. between the two seemed to fuse great soul compositions without the durge of the disco era circa 1978. with well thought out lyrics, backed by keys, trumpets and a driving bassline we really are pleased to add the group to the super disco edit roster.

following on from the runaway success of le-edits number 1, dimitri eases us into 2018 with style and grace by presenting us with another fine set of reworkings from deep within the vaults. in this era of cheap and nasty bootlegs, badly looped breakdowns and bedroom producers butchering the classics with no soul or quality control it was time for a change, an antidote. le-edits is exactly that, a platform for dimitri to express his appreciation of this most influential musical artform in the best way possible - utilising the master tapes, pressing onto virgin vinyl, taking extra care with the label aesthetics and everything else in-between. what you hold in your hands is a labour of love, a journey! once the needle hits the groove and you re immersed in the music it will all make sense, you will feel the force of the chic in the music!

pascal garnier aka krewcial is a belgian beat maker turned mc turned producer turned dj. he s been dropping soulful music on labels like bbe, pias, we play house and lumberjacks in hell since he began in the early 90s. lately he s been focusing on more disco(ish) sounds and on this first ep on gamm, krewcial goes all over the place with a wide range of disco inspired edits. you get everything from vocal nyc disco, jazz-funk disco, philly disco and beautiful mid tempo groover...all very soulful of course! proper dj action with some real nice artwork by our in house maestro designer michal rafaj.

in 1980, during her run on broadway in the musical, ain’t misbehavin’ and before being cast in dreamgirls, singer/actress and detroit native roz ryan teamed up with the legendary team of dennis coffey and mike theodore on a six song album that wound up being unreleased. recently, the folks at super disco edits released this 45 featuring roz’ taking on preston glass’ “keep shining” b/w “put love back” (composed by eric mcclinton). both tracks were from the theo-coff sessions and make their debut for lovers of dancin’ (“keep shining”) and romancin’ (“put love back”). enjoy!
