after a very successful release on immigrant records and a couple of remixes this year and a very busy dj schedule on the nations floors, mr. sleep another day and old highgrade buddy, jens bond, returns to sender, spreading his urgent little flatbread ep through our highgrade network. with some coolish afro rhythms and strange zitarsounds, flatbread immediately makes sure to storm your mind. also the b1 superficial demonstrates mr. bonds current affection for complex rhythms in a minimal corset. then again b2, kodiac gives us jbs interpretation of a warm and housy minimal track

following three acclaimed releases from glimpse, alex jones and shenoda, hypercolour is back again with more super-fresh underground house music to brighten up the dancefloor. this time, we welcome parisian young gun sebastien bouchet, whose releases on freak n chic have been creating quite a stir with discerning djs across the globe. >changing lanes< is a mid-paced, woozy number, with stripped back beats, cascading fx, and bouchets messed-up vocals drifting in and out of the mix. its deep and its druggy, but theres still plenty of movement and groove, making it perfect for the grey hours of the early morning. next up is a remix from jens bond, another superhot producer whose slinky, taut technoid sound has already featured on labels including sender, highgrade and poker flat.

a massive electronic house monster with techhouse influences, but still grooving and funky - which has become something like a trademark of milk & sugar recordings. the vocals on this record came from julian williams, who is well known as j-luv in the rnb and hiphop scene.

oh my buffer is another very well produced minimal masterpiece with the typical guido schneider ingredients: dry as dry can be, but still forward and funky, amazing sounds and instruments with subtile effects, twists and turns

after retiring from the jamaican police force arthur duke reid established his treasure isle liquor store and sound system in pink lane kingston and was crowned the undisputed king of sound and blues in 1956, 57 and in 58. the duke then moved into record production and after relocating the store to 33 bond street, he then built a recording studio on top of his new premises in 1966. according to the musicians and singers the wooden construction of the treasure isle recording studio gave the music a distinctive warmth and richness and with resident engineer byron baron/smithy smith at the controls, the sound of a bond street recording was immediately recognisable.
