nice price deal !!! the freihafen ep shows the inimitably techno producing of georg lange as dj argon. the modulated drums and baselines are always strong and raspy. all the songs are funky someway, primarily created with analogue equipment, populated with strident synthie sounds. it s not possible to call a genre, is somewhere between deep techno, dub and atmospheric minimal house. lets call it >argons music<- cheery, unique and coltish deep.

first up is minimise label founder and owner donnacha costello, delivering a completely reworked track that transcends genres from techno to deep house. chymera, who has been very prolific in 2010 with releases on prestigious labels such as cocoon and connaisseur, stays closer to the original but moves it more into dancefloor territory.

act re act: daaaaark is the typical expression used to define act re act. uplfting synths, spastic latin percussion, and a pummeling 808 bring some light for the harder moments.
ms. minnie: kitty ms. minnie, age 39, was caught saturday evening sneaking a 909 into the club and having her way with the hi-hats. she ripped it up in honor of larry heard before being forcefully removed by security. the whereabouts of said 909 are unknown.
the origin: a minimal bit of italo kit shoved through the hatch of a nasa shuttle (it was recorded in houston, tx after-all) and sent around several moons of several planets. what was discovered is only now being made available for public consumption.

after a successful year with releases on cocoon, cadenza and get physical, gavin herlihy teams up with brothers in crime evan baggs (get physical) and julian ganzer (get physical, meerestief), to deliver a sci-fi soundscape which bounds into a banging bassline driven groove. doing the honours on the remixes are chris carrier and e-contact (half of gimikk), chris turns the track into a funky house tune, while e-contact adds a more of a chicago groove feeling to the track.
