“ok so this is my 7th album, it doesn’t feel like it but i don’t know what should ... the last dnb album i wrote from the ground up was overflow, so in between i released shelflife 2 a compilation of unreleased tracks, and shine a light my weird departure from everything, with even ifË. i was back on familiar ground, i employed my voice a few times, got emotional, forgot everything and turned the tempo up. i am always looking for the songwriter slant in dnb, to feel the blues in my music is important to me, it is a raw connection i never get tired of looking for. and to sing it means a lot to me. i have tried to cover my own long standing interests in a musical genre that was supposed to have died a long time ago. and so here it is, a collection of tunes i have put together for the purpose of moving some part of you that’s the same part of me.” - calibre 2010

signature label boss and drum & bass stalwart calibre is continuing his shelflife series with a new compilation consisting of 11 tracks that as the title would suggest were shelved before. a coherent mix of exotic rollers, atmospheric cuts and euphoric dancefloor anthems is the result. with appearences by dj marky and cleveland watkiss this addition to the shelflife series proves to be a relevant showcase of calibres diversity and of course a celebration of contemporary drum & bass.

strictly limited to 350 copies. along the west coast of co kerry in ireland you will find the amazing valentia island. attached by a bridge to the mainland, it is a place of beauty touched by years of history and the songs of the sea. i managed to obtain a house there for a few weeks, i took my computer and mic with me not knowing what to expect when i got there.in one of the rooms sat a piano, and as my fingers touched the keys i knew there was a story there waiting to be told. the sound of the piano in that place was something very magical as 100mph winds battered the house and interrupted my recordings. other material has since emerged from those days spent on the island, but the main body of work that i recorded there makes up this album that i now present to you. album support from: gilles peterson, skream, laurent garnier, patrick forge, jean-claude (if), soulclap, joszif, makoto, breach, flight, dbridge, doc scott, trevino, craig richards, john b, klaus fiehe. mr scruff.

classic unreleased 21 tracks covering drum and bass, house, broken beat & dub productions (from 1997 to 2005) finally make onto 2 x cd. there arent many artists that have a veritable vault of back dated and in demand tracks, but calibre is an exception to the rule.

calibre has gone through his hard drives, dat tapes and even mini discs to find more gems for *shelflife 3*. thirteen of his most requested unreleased productions from 1997 to 2013 are now released on 3x12 inch vinyl with the 13 track cd shrink wrapped.

next calibre masterpiece!

this one took a little longer than expected. every year for a while i have churned out the collectedconsequently after such a time i required a step back, a quiet pause — to define. -i suppose it is just about the floor, but i have always wanted more. i find it hard to articulate what it means to dedicateif anything means anything at all. sometimes it does, but other nights i am climbing the walls, ssupposing this tempo wasnt a thing. do you think i could sing the same song that you sing?
