this lp includes misterios cosmogaficos remastered album, originally released in 1983, plus 5 tracks taken from espiritus unreleased cassette originally recorded in 1984: chile was a place where very little space was given for artistic creation, sometimes it was forbidden to create. however, with a determined inner strength, mr. valdés decided to take this project forward self-producing his own tape cassettes (diy culture). he wanted to show the young people, his friends and family that the chilean could create music at the best level in the world.

the pieces were created as structured improvisations using a monophonic synth (primarily) along with a yamaha dx7 (borrowed from a friend) and possibly a guitar. recording was made on an older otari mx5050 1/2 8 track. mixing was done on a tascam m-50 console and a revox a77 1/4 machine. i recall the project happened in two bursts: i did half of it in september 85, then i finished up and edited the album together in december 85. i dont really recall making copies for anyone. i think i played it for a dozen people and that was it. just forgot about it. i remember jeff ament from pearl jam (green river back then) came by while i had it playing on my home stereo. he asked what it was and said he liked it. surprised me a little. with regard to overall aesthetic: i like the sound of machinery, but i enjoy the fragility of human error and human instinct. i like to put things into motion then climb aboard and drive. i can’t play an instrument (in the classical sense) for the life of me, so i’ve always just played things that are mostly choice rather than a convolution of style and technique. i guess you call that the brian eno school of rock.

crazy 12 track library music style album on this ace italian label. all based around bumping live rhythms triggering an obscure japanese drum synth module recorded in 2018. it was november 2017 when i received a call from an old friend, hi fabrizio, i found a rare japanese drum machine, you should come and see it before i put this on ebay. i went to check it out and immediately realized it had more potential than just drum sounds generation, it was able to produce quirky and creepy sounds if triggered by any sound source. so i bought it and brought in the studio, where me and alex were laying down new beats and ideas. it took just three days of jams to get the skeleton of this record done: i programmed the module to receive alex s drum hits and the device started creating synth lines, almost as it was speaking its own language.i ve found a soul in this machine, and i wanted to bring it to life in these tracks, a mix of arranged compositions and improvised jams. no root keys, no grids, no clicks, everything came out in an instinctive and natural way as far as we know it s the first time this synthesizer/drum machine is been used in this improper and new way.

remastered reissue of boutz two recordings originally released on tape cassette. all titles composed, arranged, recorded live, engineered and produced by georges boutz at home studio, from july 1981 to april 1983 (amber 7) and between january & march 1984 (silver eagle). weird spacey synthesizer sounds.

originally released in 1982, including tracks written for crosstalk (a science fiction thriller film made in australia) and other electronic themes, it was written, performed and recorded by chris neal in his home studio, using roland system 700 and roland mc8. in 1982 there were only a few system 700s ever produced and roland was more interested in promoting their more commercial system 100m (that s why it was credited on the 1982 original cover to give them a plug). the system 700 was developed by taro kakahashi and his team in japan as a direct challenger to the moog modular system. the orbeatize remastered reissue also includes a special bonus track remixed and produced in 2017 by jolly mare.

this is a selection of previously unreleased tracks created at home by enrico serotti, without any purpose other than the fun of playing with new musical devices. the tracks date from 1983 to 1999. a pretty long time span, coinciding with the transition from analog to digital technology. cover art by alessandro pessoli.
