policy returns to argot with a mature and joyful record entitled the disconekt ep. this time around the new york-based producer integrates an array of organic sounds into his refined palette, adding further depth to meticulously written tunes. plucked guitars pop out of the cinematic * we are connected* rotund floor tom beats set the pace for charmingly interwoven melodies on * moleskine* and closer * his meaningful breath* is flügel-esque in its zig-zagging synth leads and deliberate pace. the records varied, confident nature makes it a pleasure to enjoy at home and then pop in your bag for that nights dj gig

after five years of throwing parties under the name green villain, the label green village was founded in 2014. their second release, come through for me features a single from new york city based dj/producer, policy. following his two recent albums on 100% silk in 2013, and rush hour in 2012, this will be his last release for 2014. the flip features a more dance floor friendly remix by london based, thefft which focuses on predominant percussion and off beat bass stabs.

manhattan filmmaker-turned-beatbroker francis hsueh aka policy has been unfolding a skewed yet chic house blueprint across the last three years, as evinced via a series of eps for eminent dancefloor wholesalers such as rush hour and argot – yet his latest seems his most assured and distilled to date. postscript plays street dice with choppy electronics and disrobed rhythm architectures, maxed out but close to the chest, splashed with off-grid percussive patterns and muted jazz textures.

following the release of *everything hits*, his debut album for rush hour recordings, this eps three tracks are among the most unique and charming expressions of policys already eccentric aesthetic. let the title track prowl through soundsystems, stabbed with cavernous horns and dogged by the most infectious woodblock in recent memory. employ the ebullient *walk up* to add some fizz with dizzy organ riffs and jaunty brass notes. or perhaps conjure a reflective mood with the tensely plucked bass lines, bittersweet melodies, and live percussion of *thick nostalgia*.

its not every day that we receive demos from new artists that totally rock our world, but when its happens its a joy and a reminder of why we are still doing this. and so tears of joy rolled onto the speakers when we played policys demos. when contacted policy he told us he is from nyc, is a part time movie director and only started making music recently. out of the bunch of tracks we received >specialty party< and >light over fort lee< form his debut ep. both tracks challenge the beat spectrum once again and definitely speak his cinematic mind. expect more music from policy on rush hour later this year. he surely is our contender for best newcomer of 2011.
