Die Black Keys haben die Veröffentlichung ihres neuen Albums „Peaches!“ für den 1. Mai 2026 angekündigt. Vorab erscheint am 5. Februar die erste Single „You Got To Lose“.Das elektrisierende Musikvideo (Regie E. J. McLeavey-Fisher) zeigt die Band bei einer Surprise-Show im legendären Memphis-Juke-Joint Hernando’s Hide-A-Way, die sie im vergangenen Monat spielten.Erst vor einem halben Jahr erschien ihr letztes Album „No Rain, No Flowers“. Das Grammy-ausgezeichnete Rock-Duo erreichte damit Platz 11 der deutschen Charts und präsentierte die Songs im Sommer bei der „No Rain, No Flowers Tour“ in Hamburg und Berlin live vor ihren deutschen Fans.Mit „Peaches!“ setzen die Black Keys ihre beeindruckende kreative Phase fort – es ist das sechste Studioalbum der Band seit 2019. Aufgenommen Anfang 2025, begann alles mit einer spontanen Jam-Session: Das Duo traf sich, drehte die Verstärker auf und ließ Dampf ab, nachdem Dans Vater an Krebs erkrankt war. Aus diesem emotionalen Moment entstand schließlich ihr neues Werk. Das Ergebnis ist eine rohe, intuitive Sammlung von zehn Songs, die Dan als „das natürlichste Black-Keys-Album seit dem ersten“ beschreibt.Die Songs schöpfen aus einer breiten Palette von Inspirationsquellen: von den ursprünglichen Blues-Ikonen Junior Kimbrough und R.L. Burnside über die britischen Pub-Rocker Dr. Feelgood bis hin zum amerikanischen Blues-Revivalisten George Thorogood. Alles wurde live im selben Raum aufgenommen, ungeprobt, meist in ein oder zwei Takes, mit wenigen Overdubs – und von der Band selbst gemixt, erstmals seit „Magic Potion“ (2006).Das Cover zu Peaches! zeigt ein Bild des in Memphis geborenen, ikonischen Fotografen William Eggleston, der ein großer Held der Band ist.[info sheet from distr.]

The Black Keys Peaches! is the Akron duo’s fourteenth studio album (their sixth since 2019), a visceral and raw 10-song collection described by singer Dan Auerbach as the band’s “most natural record” since their 2002 debut, The Big Come Up. In similar DIY spirit, the album was recorded with all musicians playing in the same room with few overdubs, and is the first record mixed entirely by the band themselves since 2006’s Magic Potion. The songs chosen reflect Auerbach and bandmate Patrick Carney’s obsessive record-collecting habit, which in recent years has escalated into an ongoing series of Record Hang DJ-set dance parties where they spin vintage 45s for packed, high-energy dancefloors in the coolest spots across the globe.
The cover art for Peaches! is based around an iconic image from Memphis-born photographer, William Eggleston, and marks the return of Patrick’s brother, Michael Carney, overseeing the art direction.

“I don’t want this to be perceived as a covers record,” Dan says. “It’s so much of a retelling that to call it a covers record would be to oversimplify it. I want it to be perceived as a great Black Keys album. I want a lot of people to say it’s their favorite. I think a lot of people will, too.”
