Sankofa is a word in the Twi language of Ghana, which literally
translates itself as
“Go back and fetch/collect/get it”.

SKRR would like to highlight the eternal and fundamental connection
between contemporary music and it’s rich blooming history. Going back
to our roots and core elements gives us an improved understanding in how
we can move forward with the rhythm as well as creating new compositions
deducted by our past. By knowing and respecting our past we can combine
these elements stay connected with the essence.

Susubrino’s EP is dedicated to his guitar teacher in Castilla La
Mancha, as he opened Pandor’s Box and introduced Susubrino to a new
world of classica land traditional guitar music. His Spanish teacher
always motivated young Susubrino in pursuing and never stop writing. One
of his beloved and most cherished artists that he discovered at that
time was Juanjo Dominguez. This really sparled his interest and
persevered him to play like this.

Recent discovery and inspiration is the Bolivian musician and painter
Alfredo Dominguez, his sincere compositions are definitely influencing
Susobrino’s guitar plays and motivates him to proceed writing classica
land traditional guitar pieces.
