Gut vier Jahre nach dem letzten Album können sich Fans der Pet Shop Boys in diesem Jahr auf ein neues Album des Duos freuen: Für den 26. April haben Neil Tennant und Chris Lowe die Veröffentlichung von "nonetheless" angekündigt, ein Album mit 10 Tracks, das über Parlophone Records erscheinen wird. Im Sommer folgt eine Tour durch europäische Stadien (in DE stehen im Juni Shows in Mannheim, Berlin und Hannover auf dem Plan), außerdem haben Pet Shop Boys fünf besondere Abende im Londoner Royal Opera House im Juli bestätigt. Das Album ist das erste des Duos mit Produzent James Ford , den man für seine Arbeiten mit Künstlern wie Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, Blur, Gorillaz und Simian Mobile Disco kennt. Einen ersten Eindruck vermittelt die Single "Loneliness" , ein Song, den PSB als "uplifting music with reflective lyrics" beschreiben. Beflügelt durch die enorme Renaissance, die PSB mit ihren letzten drei Studioalben und dem anhalten Erfolg ihrer "Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live"-Tour erlebten, ist "nonetheless" der Sound einer Band, die auch gut 40 Jahre nach ihrer Gründung immer wieder neue kreative Höhen besteigt.

Produced by James Ford, the music on ‘Nonetheless’ is both uplifting and reflective, mixing electronics, live instruments, and orchestral arrangements. The songs are very melodic and quintessentially Pet Shop Boys with a fresh, open sound, bringing together classic strands of PSB song-writing and moving them in new directions.

Pet Shop Boys continue their run of spectacular live shows under the Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live with 5 nights at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden in July
