Das Grammy-nominierte Album ist das bislang ehrgeizigste und umstrittenste Album der Band. 'Evil Urges' ist ein äußerst kompromissloses, vielseitiges und zutiefst persönliches Album, das die Band ins öffentliche Bewusstsein katapultierte und ihren Platz als Innovatoren und Titanen des Indie-Rock festigte. Produziert wurde das Album Mastermind Jim James gemeinsam mit Joe Chiccarelli.
