Being the musical mind behind the legendary Source Records imprint, David Moufang has always been a versatile and prolific character. From ambient soundscapes to krautrocky epics, jazz sensibilities or straight up techno and house, he has done it all with his own special and unique touch. This lovely fingerprint is spread all over the “Cube EP . Intended as a tribute to Heidelberg’s finest club night of the same name (don’t mix it up with that other square project!) , Move D shots two arrows straight into your heart. “Cube” is one of those stripped down hypnotic affairs that seem to go on forever and ever just to surprise you with a nice breakdown, before it’s groove sucks you in again. We guess this is what people mean, if they talk about the beauty of simplicity. “Heidelberg Gals” flips the script in three parts with an old school approach and turns into a monolithic house monster with a bassline to boot.
