Nous Klaer welcomes Cosime, a collaborative project between longtime companions Arif and Job. Their debut EP consists of three tracks, including an outstanding version of the A1. Most of the record was recorded and arranged on several autumn days, home away from home, facing a freshwater lake. Field recordings, made on a former island that is now a peninsula, provide the basis of the Hilary EP. On the B side the recordings lay over solid drum programming, centred on the offbeat hat. On the A side Fyr offers a more fluid take, resulting in a splendid play of samples and rhythms sewn together. The alternative take of Fyr takes on an anything-goes approach, highly club appropriate though moving away from the rhythm backbone. Excellent music for pedaloes.
