Let Me Go could be a contender for the poppiest thing the band have recorded so far. Heavily influenced by 1960s girl garage groups, this one is full to bursting with pop hooks, jangling guitars and just the right amount of fuzziness... all clocking in at under 2 and a half minutes aswell. In stark (and we do emphasise the word stark here) contrast, So Sick is definitely the most unsettling thing The Blanche Hudson Weekend have composed so far. No guitars, just the sparseness of a harmonium, single bass note hits, doom laden vocals and scraping metal. Bizarrely, this track still manages to achieve a quite "pop" sound, but it certainly comes from a much darker place than that. Finally, Song For Kristen is a four and a half minute Velvet Underground inspired pop gem that builds to a sweeping finale.
