Björn's Friends formed sometime at the end of the last century and have since released three or four albums at long intervals, depending on how you count. Now they are releasing their new album, All tid i världen (All the Time in the World). With their melodic indie-influenced pop rock—centered around Richard Schicke's straightforward yet poetic, humorous yet poignant lyrics—they have gained an enthusiastic following and consider themselves to have a fairly good ratio between “have heard” and “like.” For some reason, the musical keyword when they started rehearsing for this new album was “ghost prog.” They wanted to make a collection of songs with a more restrained approach, a little more minor keys and mystique. Many of the songs are written around a time of forced breakup, and the inability to fully meet life's challenges runs like a thread through the album. It's not an entirely new theme for Björn's friends, but in these descriptions of self-experienced and self-inflicted life crises, there is now more hope and forward movement in addition to frustration.[info sheet from distr.]
