Since we first heard the first draft of Tell Me about a year ago we were well and truly smitten. How could you not be? The chopped up Summer Madness chords add a soulful, classic-sounding element to the track. Taking things in an altogether deeper and more epic direction David August drops the BPMs down to 113 for an electronic jam which demonstrates his breadth and scope as a producer perfectly. Making use of neo-classical piano lines, melancholic church organ pads underpinned by the fattest synth bass, David has successfully transformed the track from good-times house music in its purest form into something more desolate and overall darker in atmosphere. The vinyl also includes an instrumental of the original mix and the digital version has a bonus edit of the David August Remix which nips and tucks at the breakdowns making the track more accessible for the dancefloor.
