Solid Uncoated returns with its second release, again compiling four productions from the inner circle of its network. D’Evoé opens the field with »Failures«, a gloomy and cavernous hardware track resembling the bassline and pad recipe from S/U 001 in a more offensive manner. Next up is Arian Alexander, one half of the Monogenic duo, with »Pakchoi«: A lesson in sub-heavy, effective purism, pushing sparse chord stabs over a swinging 909 rhythm. Opening up the flipside there is Bool again, another acquaintance from the first 12 Inch, delivering his trademark peak-time sounddesign within a massive, morphing chord sculpture. The circle is completed by Sub Accent from France, another newcomer to the S/U family, represented here with an amtmospheric track of industrial-leaning, widescreen ambienttechno. Limited to 300 hand stamped copies.
