After more than eight years the moment has finally arrived. The guys behind "The Glitz", Daniel Nitsch and Andreas Henneberg, are releasing their first album together on their label "Voltage Musique Records". With 14 Tracks in total, the result of the last two years of common studio work can be heard. For 13 years the two musicians living in Rostock and Berlin are running the label "Voltage Musique Records" together with Markus Hille, as well as traveling around the world with their solo projects. Due to the spacial distance between them, their time in the studio is very limited, which is a constant challenge to their productions. However, this is still considered to be "no drama" for the boys, rather they profit from the distance through always meeting up with lots of new ideas and creativity. In other words, "No Drama" can be seen as their attitude towards life. A north-German laid-backness meets the rascally Berlin cheeriness. And naturally, life is easier when you treat each other well. This plays an important part in a friendship of two guys with such different characters. The different influences as well as Andreas' and Daniels' musically diverse background are probably the most important bricks in the foundation of a very independent sound on the album. Without loosing the red thread you can find clear traces of Downbeat, Triphop, Jazz and funk next to the very club friendly tracks. Singer and electronica songwriter "i Am Halo" from the USA, joined in on two of the tracks. Also, the vocalist from "Parasite Single" made another guest contribution with her wonderful charismatic voice, that weaves its way into your ear alongside a groaning bassline in the song "Sugar to the milk".. Through their skills, the German rock singer and close friend "Stefan Krogmann", as well as the international active pianist "Johann Blanchard" completed two further, surprisingly different sounding tracks. If you already know a "The Glitz" DJ-set you might recognize some of the songs. After all, over the last months a lot of them have been extensively tested in the clubs, and also continuously refined. "No Drama" – a thoroughly club suitable album, that also can be excellently listened to while enjoying a cup of tea with a lacing in your grandparents living room.
(de) Nach mehr als acht Jahren ist es nun endlich so weit. Die beiden "The Glitz" aka Daniel Nitsch und Andreas Henneberg veröffentlichen ihr erstes gemeinsames Album auf ihrem Label "Voltage Musique Records". Mit insgesamt 14 Titeln zeigen die Beiden, was in den letzten zwei Jahren der gemeinsamen Studioarbeit entstanden ist. Die in Rostock und Berlin lebenden Musiker betreiben gemeinsam mit Markus Hille seit mehr als 13 Jahren das Label "Voltage Musique" und sind mit Ihren Solo-Projekten überall auf der Welt unterwegs. Durch die große räumliche Entfernung ist die gemeinsame Studiozeit sehr kostbar und stellt damit auch immer wieder eine kleine Herausforderung für ihre Produktionen dar. Dies ist für die Beiden aber "kein Drama" und so profitieren sie von der Distanz eher mit einer immer wieder frischen Ideenfreude.

"No Drama" darf man also als eine Art Lebenseinstellung betrachten. Eine norddeutsche Tiefenentspanntheit trifft eine freche Berliner Gelassenheit. Und natürlich lebt es sich um einiges entspannter wenn man einfach gut zueinander ist. Das spielt bei zwei solch unterschiedlichen Charakteren und ihrer Freundschaft eine große Rolle. Die verschiedenen Einflüsse sowie der unterschiedliche musikalische Background von Daniel und Andreas sind wahrscheinlich die wichtigsten Bausteine für den sehr eigenständigen Sound auf diesem Album. Ohne den roten Faden zu verlieren kann man neben sehr clubfreundlichen Titeln durchaus auch klare Spuren von Downbeat, Triphop, Jazz und Funk entdecken. Der in den USA lebende Sänger und Electronica Songwriter "i Am Halo" wurde gleich für zwei Titel mit ins Boot geholt. Ein weiterer Gastbeitrag kommt von der "Parasite Single"-Frontfrau Jasmina Quach, deren wundervoll charismatische Stimme sich neben einer knarzigen Bassline bei "Sugar to the Milk" in die Ohren schraubt. Der eng befreundete Deutsch-Rock Sänger "Stefan Krogmann", sowie der international tätige Pianist "Johann Blanchard" vervollständigen mit Ihrem Können zwei weitere, überraschend anders klingende Titel. Wer die DJ-Sets der Beiden kennt, wird einige Titel wiedererkennen können. Schließlich wurden viele Songs in den letzten Monaten schon ausgiebig in den Clubs getestet und auch weiter verfeinert. "No Drama" - ein durchaus clubtaugliches Album, welches sich aber auch ganz gemütlich bei einer Tasse Pfefferminztee mit Schuss im Wohnzimmer der Großeltern hören lässt.
