From the abstract mind of world-renowned drummer Jamire Williams, ERIMAJ is a progressive new band stirring up the scene.
Their first break onto the stage was in 2010 with their underground EP release Memo To All. This was a project that not only displayed Williams as a leader, but demonstrated his production abilities as well. Known for his work as drummer for artists like Dr. Lonnie Smith, Christian Scott and Robert Glasper, Williams has also performed and recorded with the likes of John Mayer and Cubic Zirconia. With a background immersed
in diversity he has set out to make ERIMAJ a genuine blend of all these experiences.
Side A features the title track from the album Conflict Of A Man. Driving drums and key stabs mixed with cinematic strings and Chris Turner’s soulful vocals come together on this sureshot underground classic.
Side B is a cover of J Dilla’s “Nothing Like This” from his cult classic Ruff Draft album. Guaranteed to have people approaching the booth asking what this version is. This is a must-have for Dilla fans.
