This New 12 inch is a driving exploration of where the sound of Detroit is going. Joined together are the ethno-percussive elements instrumental to shaping the Motech sound, as well as a dance floor driven synth pattern that beckons your inner desire to move.
"Midnight Express" pushes the collaboration even further. This dark and driving composition is equal parts funk and groove, smashed in with an alluring percussion riff. This track provides us the illusion of moving somewhere through the night in a far off land. Not quite sure of where we are going, but all the while taking in every sound that we pass as well as those that surround us. This mix of sounds, perceived motion and groove make "Midnight Express" a late night gem.
Our good friend Bens Sims really liked the Midnight Express track so we had him do a remix and we have to say its one of the best remixes we ever heard from him and we think u will agree.
Taken from the DJ 3000 release "Galactic Caravan" on Motech Records. Representing the most diverse collection of sounds that DJ 3000 has produced yet, "Galactic Caravan" as a whole serves as a roadmap for where Detroit influenced music making is going, all the while remaining true to its roots.
