moss co. continues into 2018 with stephan bazbaz & asael weisss only ep, a three tracker equipped with two original productions, complimented further via a remix from fuse’s very own rossko. lead track only, a collaborative effort between bazbaz & weiss, kicks things off with decidedly a stripped back sonic palette, rich in analogue warmth. sparkling keys bounce off tripped-out atmospheres, as steady rolling beats and subs push the track onwards. the ep continues with rosskos only reinterpretation, an extremely accomplished debut remix that deftly draws from the original’s blissed out musicality, with renewed razor-sharp focus on low-end theory and percussive weight. a promising sign of things to come for this recently indoctrinated producer. bazbaz closes off the package with tagzimi, a solo endeavor that sees modulating dub chords trade blows with snappy percussion and rich pads, a beautifully constructed roller destined for long form sets during the early hours. landing in june, the only ep is set to be a staple feature in the record bags of discerning djs alike throughout the summer months and beyond.
weiss blasts off via “brain fever”, where raw, mind-altering arpeggio bass, fuzzy drum machine hits, spacey chords and alien electronics thrust our hero skywards. think of it as techno for funk-fuelled, italo-disco loving astronauts whose journey to the end of the universe is only just underway. this intergalactic funk blueprint is explored further on the deeper and more melodious “you want a cigarette”, where weiss’s vocoder vocals wrap themselves around mutant tb-303 lines, rush-inducing chords and clattering machine percussion. on “space ghetto (booty)”, our hero celebrates the discovery of previously unknown worlds in the only way he knows how. with kaleidoscopic, full-throttle electronic motifs and funk-fuelled synth-bass to the fore, weiss offers his own unique take on electrofunk. pleasingly fuzzy and tightly wrapped in the syncopated drum machine handclaps of ghetto-house, it’s a typically far-sighted and attractive proposition.
hot off the heels of his latest release on dirtybird and ahead of a ten date us tour, toolroom favourite weiss is back with the next edition in his weiss city vinyl series with weiss city vol 4. with sell-out self-branded shows all over the world under his weiss city guise, weiss continues to go from strength to strength on the underground house circuit, racking up more and more fans and creating more dance floor anthems along the way. kicking things off on the a-side is his latest weapon, you better run , which offers that signature weiss sound with a serious chunky and funky groove accompanied with a retro vocal and tough, classic sounding pianos. the dub mix sees weiss lay down a tougher and darker take on the original with additional trippy synth patterns, this is one for the more forward-thinking floors. the b-side sees weiss team up with label favourite harry romero with the contagious, chunky, groover, let me show ya and rounding off the package is feel for me with its funky, infectious baseline and hooky vocals. four essential slices of dance floor mayhem from one of toolroom s main men, not to be missed!
resopal is very pleased to introduce tobi weiss. after listening his demo tunes it was a sure shot for us to work with him on vinyl. brace yourself for two minimal and pumpin monster tracks that are 100 percent dancefloor killers. each tune is heavy with choppy drums, mind-numbing reverbs, butt-shaking basslines and snappy percussion. mmmmm...can you taste it?? early plays by villalobos, & luciano, sonya moonear, zip

following a summer of fifth birthday celebrations, tom tragos voyage direct label returns to action with a brand new 12inch from amsterdam scene stalwart simon weiss. although a new member of the voyage direct family, weiss is no newcomer to the scene. hes previously delivered high grade eps for rush hour, deepermotions and home taping is killing music, and his contribution to first mission, voyage directs fifth anniversary compilation, was one of the undoubted highlights of that set.
simon weiss is taking over fast and smooth. his track amsterdam wave on rush hours amsterdam all-stars compilation last year was a brief introduction. his rush hour follow up, a full 12inch titled >wave ep< has just hit the shelves and is getting great feedback. now simon weiss readies for a three out of three with a brand new 10inch.
give the lord a round of applause, for he keeps blessing us with such great talent. new amsterdam producer making waves! after simon weisss amsterdam wave debuted on the rh amsterdam all-stars compilation at the tail-end of 2011 (an updated mix of this tracks is included on this release), he now returns with his first solo ep for the label. and what a first solo release this is. he literally has up bouncing up and down at the office for weeks with this four tracker. with his wave ep simon delivers a tasteful and fun package. four house tracks that ride the thin line between retro and current, without trying to sound like either one. conclusion: this young buck has arrived and brings along his signature sound.
>and i heard a strange deep sound. as i got closer to that particular place, the music took a more stable form…i thought i already knew this sound from somewhere<… welcome to the musical world of exciting new amsterdam based producer simon weiss. coming over all early theo and moodymann-esqe, he clearly demonstrates a passion for all things detroit in terms of mood, melody, rhythm and texture. half bouncing feet, sweaty walls and concrete floors, half sophisticated, futuristic movie soundtrack score …simon weiss fits the description of a home taper absolutely perfectly. dance to it, close your eyes to it, but whatever you do listen to it. 100% house music with bits. play it all night long!!
dutch dj and producer drops this killer house single on australias deepermotions music. this 12 inch features remixes by rick wade and steve ward alongside the excellent original mix and the cut > so what<. deep and melodic and catchy as hell. dont sleep on this! highly recommended.
nice pairing of producers to rework two cool old klaus weiss tracks...! b-boys delight!
faces records & les disques superfriends together with moula moula publishing are proud to present you the selected sound remixes series! franky hutchinson & pablo valentino dug deep into a particular era of the famous german sound library catalog, which primarily dealt with the early 80s cosmic & electro sound ... naturally we asked some of the best producers around to rework on these nuggets from such composer as klaus weiss & roland kovac.
the 1st part comes with 2 excellent boogie/disco remixes from james pants (stones throw) & tom noble (lotus land, superior elevation).
das glows debut ep with support by para one. >cathedrale< is unashamedly epic, it comes from the heart and speaks to the brain and feet simultaneously. flip for weiss gaz, which is mostly electro, with shades of ghettotech, acid house accents, laser-guided snaps, and a huge bassline revving like a v8, and bits of musique concrète.then on b2, >vulcanice< is fresh, recorded in one take and built around hammond organ samples
fracture has always tried to support upcoming and interesting newcomers, people they believe in. chevel is one of them, and in 2014 came his first ep for fracture under his alias signalweiss. he returns now for round two. in 4 years, he has managed to establish himself as a prolific and talented artist with a steady stream of records on labels such as stroboscopic artefacts. chevel is an artist who likes to mix things up, always striking an interesting balance between experimentation and more dance floor oriented tunes. with -feelings- and -forbona-, he creates quite abstract but still effective dance music. it is for the club, but it is not mindless bangers. in the hands of pablo mateo, -forbona- turns into a more mental piece of techno. all in all, this new fracture release provides great tools for the smarter selectors out there.
ltd repress! from another mind, originally known as a series of eclectic dance events in southern germany, now released its third record by shdw & obscure shape. die weiße rose shares a similar hypnotic & atmospheric vibe with its predecessors, which have already gained great support worldwide. having released three eps, from another mind has proven itself to be a label worth keeping an eye on. the record pays homage to munich - vinyl only.
