limited repress! for the third mouche release dutch artist ivano tetelepta has invited some of his closest friends to create not less than four fantastic dub infected and hypnotic grooves. his ep also marks the third edition of the so called -ivano tetelepta & friends--series. it all started with a record on highly acclaimed label fear of flying a few years ago and continued on rue de plaisance in 2016. now ivano brings out the third part on mouche. on the record he collaborates with the likes of ben buitendijk, tom liem, jocelyn abell and steven siwalette.
ivano tetelepta returns to duty on fof after his well received * true colours* lp with a veritable potpourri of tracks in collaboration with various cohorts. first up ivanos collaboration with steve siwalette twists and turns with a steppas beat whilst melodic licks build the track up to its anthemic break. * give me something so i can dance* w/alex jansen roughs things up with a low-slung dirty groove whist ben buiendijk injects an acidic flavour into his collaboration before ivano & bas amro delve deeper with the sweetly melancholic tones of * manolia*.
finally a new sampler on siena! this time on 3.0 a broad range of sounds from funk to techno. the a-side starts with a smooth summer jam by griffy hildalgo. perfect to start a roadtrip! tetelepta & gerressen teamed up to fill out the a2 with their raw sampling house joint. for the techno heads among us, yes, the b sides delivered it. b1 start with bas amro with his emotional melodies and deep grooves. the closing track for this ep is by ben buitendijk, who delivered a true masterpiece for detroit techno lovers - don’t miss it!
oblique returns with a highly personal project: 3 tracks from (or with) friends who all helped create/inspire/influence the sound of the label.
ivano tetelepta, roger gerressen and ben buitendijk already had loads of jam sessions when suddenly “dilated pupils” happened. it launched a project that consists of spontaneous studio jams in various formats (involving a dozen of befriended artists on multiple ep’s, remixes and even an label). six years later the original track, after which the project was named, will finally see the light of day!
bas amro’s “languor” shows that he, besides having an ear for reimagining classics, can also do his own ,)
cyspe’s “reminisce” more than deserves the full b-side to close the ep off. a stunning 14 minute trip through the depths of what this incredibly talented producer has to offer!
