since its release in 1988, dreamtime return has earned its reputation as a genuine classic. the two-cd magnum opus is one of the most important, widely known and highly respected release in steve roachs vast body of work. it serves as an essential benchmark within the electronic-ethno-atmospheric genre. . roachs travels in the australian outback, along with studies of the aboriginal dreamtime, and his desert walkabouts in california were the lifeblood for this recording which even today sounds like a transmission from the near future and the very distant past. musically dreamtime return richly deserves its classic status, but roach also deserves credit for leading electronic musicians out of their sheltered studios and into an active relationship with the landscape, the wider world, and deep cultural history. the whole genre is stronger and more relevant for his example. stephen hill, hearts of space radio three decades after its release, the true expansive depth of this iconic masterpiece has been meticulously unveiled, revealing an entirely new listening experience. with this 30th anniversary remastered edition, mastering engineer howard givens utilizes his years of technical knowledge with electronic music, an extensive array of analog and digital tools, and his passion for this seminal work, to restore the original sonic nature and visionary intention, taking the listener deeper into the dreamtime.

“remains”, magda ter’s sophomore album, has been created over the past two years changing its shape several times. it is a compromise between static, experimental background music and soothing techno glimpses with some samples of acoustic instruments. as a result, the album has contemplative colours, although hidden beneath the surface of seemingly uninvolved sounds.
due to this fact ter’s music cannot be pigeonholed. one can even say that “remains” leaves the audience with a huge amount of space for their own feelings and interpretations of the individual sequences, while simultaneously dropping some vague cues. thus, we are dealing with one of the most intriguing electronic polish releases in recent years.
two years after kaboom, the dynamites and charles walker are about to release their second album, burn it down. powerfull, ambitious, fed by the new experiences of a globe traveller band. absolutely funk and deeply soul, burn it down is an abrasive album, intense, just like it was about to explode in any moment. now you re warned, you have to be careful when you handle dynamite.
a guitar player, a drummer ... that s all. magical groove, original feeling and sharped sense of rowdy rythm make the inspector cluzo the funkiest rock duet in the world... or the opposite? fishbone lead singer angelo moore and bass player norwood fisher agreed with that and got involved in their first lp, produced at jet studio in brussels by stephane kraemer (yann amelie poulain tiersen, jack the ripper, watcha, pleymo). that s the most surprising thing with inspector cluzo, besides that they are only two guys and make more noise than a big orchestra : it s just rock in its raw state, just rock, fresh and full of energy. their first record is amazing, full of these little pieces of snapshot hits (mad, or the acoustic change) that never let the listerner take his breath...
kaboom is the first album by funk revivalists the dynamites, featuring charles walker. featuring charles walker is key to understanding the bands sound, and not because charles walker is a well known funk luminary. its debatable whether walker can offer any real name recognition. but the dynamites are exactly the type of troupe to include featuring in their name: that added touch doesnt merely evoke the tradition of a tight ensemble backing band, featuring is distinctly an element of the past. in sound, the group bears a resemblance to a number of famous funk ensembles, including (obsequiously) james browns backing band, the j.b.s. in their quest to reach the essence of funk music, the dynamites march out a cadre of old funk tropes and well tested jazz techniques. and they do it in rare form.

next in line to work with underground imprint getme! is uk artist nicky otter, with gme012: i can t really explain (it), a two track release out on 14th march across vinyl and digital platforms. across the ep, nicky ventures between parameters of ambient electronica and big, bad club tracks. nickys outsider sound find its perfect home on london s getme! label, both artist and label undefinable by genre, shape or sound. a-side i can t really explain (it) is a straight call for the dance floor for those after sounds on a more house and garage tip. originally trained as a drummer, nickys percussive talent shines across this bassy number, complete with creeping melody and layered vocal samples for a track nodding to club edits from a nostalgic time gone by. moving into murkier territories, b-side sketch original slow is journey through the darker strains of electronica, hazy techno feels and euphoric ambient vibes. dreamy melodies and carefully mapped out drum patterns meet here, giving sketch original slow an other-worldly feel.

when we first heard medline doing cover versions of tracks from the la planète sauvage ost, we were blown away. we said something cheeky like: -this thing needs to be on vinyl.- well wish it and will it enough and it will happen. solstice is here, and it s a record chock full of covers of legendary original soundtrack, library and jazz funk music. many of these records are tough or impossible to find, and medline s concept of interpreting these killer cuts and getting them all together on one record is a rare find itself. this is definitely a record that you can go back to again and again. high quality, brilliant interpretations of these songs, most of which were sampled many times before, is not just a digger s delight, but something that needs to be in a collection. every track was performed by medline. he translated the compositions his way, into his world, and the end product is something we will be talking about for years. - dj prestige (flea market funk / dust & grooves).

enjoy the ride records, in conjunction with paramount pictures is proud to present the score to beverly hills cop, available for the first time on vinyl. composed by grammy award winner harold faltermeyer (top gun, fletch, midnight express), the 80 s synth-pop sound is nostalgic and iconic. the protege of musical mastermind giorgio moroder got to show the world what he could do with this infectious compositions and fan favorite, -axel f,- which is strewn throughout various tracks of the score. fun fact: faltermeyer refers to axel f as the -banana theme,- as it was originally written for the scene where axel foley gives a pair of beverly hills police officers the slip by shoving bananas up their exhaust pipe, causing their car to stall when they try and tail him.
