andre kronert returns to grindviks stockholm ltd in 2017 with another stellar ep of deeper kind!

new amsterdam based label native response debuts with a delicate yet forceful 3-track ep by nathan surreal and kaap on remix duty. stockholm packs a peak-time punch, while emo effect is one for the more hypnotising moments on the dance floor. the analog bomb remix by kaap smashes 808 kicks and snares all over the place. native response 001 is limited available on 12” vinyl.

fledgling belgian artist phara returns to stockholm ltd for four track ep >paramount one<. having appeared for the label on va release >a number of thoughts< in october, alongside doka, sinful & octual and label owner par grindvik, the belgian was invited back for an extended play of his own.

somewhere between par grindviks debut album >isle of real< and his more recent output with dax j and nihad tule lands his new solo ep, >mnemosyne<. first track >o maru< launches the three-track release with a hi-tempo, swirling vortex of kicks and claps. >dawn< opens side b with syncopated flams and twisted harmonics, while >70sheets< sees ethereal chords swell dramatically under a hypnotic groove.

the quality of stockholm ltds 2016 output has been hard to top, with acclaimed full length >isle of real< from label boss pär grindvik in may, followed by a split ep from grindvik and sloboda label head nihad tule in september. and the stockholm born, berlinbased imprint is right back with another lethal va, >a number of thoughts<. their 39th release combines contributions from dutchmen doka, sinfol and octual plus belgian newcomer phara, as well as grindvik himself.

stockholm ltd welcomes nihad tule to the label, pairing the sweden-based producer with label boss par grindvik for a split ep titled >landmarks<. each component of this five track release, although written separately, fits together like a story which was meant to be.

black repress! andre kronerts seminal exu ep gets a comprehensive rework from some of the most outstanding on the scene. tense and sinister new cuts from kronert introduce both sides of the release, whilst the label calls upon remixes from berlin mainstays efdemin and ed davenport, as well as hollands finest export juan sanchez, plus stockholm ltd label boss par grindvik alongside fellow swede peder mannerfelt. retaining the slurred vocal of the original, efdemin layers thundering effects over chasmic bass in his mix of into the zone, which saw heavy rotation last year. meanwhile davenport brings a wild yet streamlined intensity to c.o.d.e.2. side b sees grindvik team up with mannerfelt to provide a joint interpretation of into the zone, which they manipulate into a peak-time epic, with a soaring melody over hammering toms. finally, juan sanchez channels funk through roll the dice with a twitchy, groove-laden rework. the spirit of exu is made physical once again via 12 inches and 27 minutes of wax.

2015 repress. its been four years since my last own ep on stockholm ltd. the main reason for this is that i have been surrounded by music that has inspired me much more than my own. this ep was written and produced with strict narrow frames and a huge amount of frustration. i was tired of waiting for the inspiration to kick in, then suddenly it appeared with a strength that i havent felt for long time. im now curious for more. while sketching the title track, >wyatt arp<, i couldnt get detroit legend, terrence dixon, out of my mind. terrence is a long time hero of mine, and an artist that always stays on the true side of what we do while most of us occasionally leave our paths. i had to ask him to do a rework. / par grindvik

very limited 2014 repress. incl s100, pfirter & grindvik, skudge, the rumours aka s. linzatti & p.grindvik, oliver kapp and tom diciccio !! to clarify the meaning of sthlm ltd 022. on sthlm ltd 022 i would like to shed light upon a few artists who, in recent times, inspired me, in one way or another. older ones and new ones. we embark with s100, a cluster of machines and people from stockholm, who share the love of playing live. in addition to the stockholm ensemble we have juan pablo pfirter, a man who brings mad joy to any dancefloor but also constantly seizes the attention of the blog generation. there is also skudge, the swedish duo who with their simple patterns and oldschool vibes made people worship true techno again. as well as staffan linzatti, who is the best studio mate in the world, and oliver kapp, the founder of the labels indulge and raygun. oliver s music has always been a huge source of inspiration for me, so i was proud to invite him to do a remix for stockholm ltd. last but not least tom dicicco, a bass and dub loving youngster from the midlands currently based in manchester, who after a few releases on various labels co founded the great label inner surface. pär grindvik, 2011
