adam port and jimpster have had a special kind of ‘virtual’ relationship the last few years with a mutual respect for each others productions and output of their respective labels. keinemusik, which adam runs alongside rampa, &me and reznik, has grown into one of the most consistent and hottest out there right now with every release creating a big splash and bringing magic to so many dancefloors around the world. adam recently remixed jimpster’s eel pie island to devastating effect bringing his own deep, late night atmospherics to the original and creating one of 2016’s underground hits in the process. so now we’re very pleased to welcome adam port (alongside legendary uk artists stereo mc’s) for a full release on freerange in the form of changes. opening the release we have adam’s own remix which sets the tone with a subtle and gently building groove providing the perfect backdrop for the stereo mc’s esoteric vocal. this lesson in restraint shows why adam’s productions work so well on big systems, letting all the focus shine firmly on the vocal creating an intense atmosphere with not a single huge breakdown in sight! next up we have the original of changes which takes a more electro approach with a simple bassline and crisp hats and once again allowing the vocal space to take centre stage for a deep and memorable track with a message. finally we have a remix from our own jimpster opts to push in a completely different direction. shuffling up the groove and laying down a repeating rhodes riff we’re treated to an altogether more soulful and less stark version making the perfect compliment to the the package. this one makes us think of his remix of osunlade’s momma’s groove which is no bad thing we feel! enjoy!

as connected arrives at its 3rd year of existence the team decided to make a selection of tunes through this time as a recap and as an opportunity to also turn some of the tunes into remixes.

dj-mixes often do little more but keeping up a certain mood. to establish a mood like this, masterful sven väth only needs a couple of moments. but this is it not enough for the inimitable dj from frankfurt am main. väth wants to introduce us to an entire world of electronic sounds. the music is an end to itself, yet at the same time, it is more: vaeth employs it to express his passion for the whole scene, to tell about the adventures he has experienced traveling, about his love for his friends, his children, his girlfriend and particularly to his fans all around the world.
the techno revolution 30 years ago, where boundaries, walls and our own guarded natures came crumbling down? the archaic establishment-challenging attitude and forthright energy of the punks? the long-awaited eruption of gay culture that had burned and yearned since the dawn of mankind? dare you travel even further back? rewind two hundred years to the romantic revolution where men like the blitzed berloiz helped us transcend our physical limitations for suspended moments of fantastique disbelief… all of these moments have shaped us, our music and our culture. each movement comprising artists who like us right now are trying to make sense of the uncertain world, the chaotic present and the fearful future. artists like hell. welcome to the future…reflecting over his participation and contribution to myriad cultural movements since the late 70s, his passion of ever-evolving musical form and our current socialpolitical landscape, hell taps into our collective rich histories, our combined fears and our mutual desires to create his most personal, ambitious and thought provoking body of work to date: zukunftsmusik. his fifth studio album zukunftsmusik fuses some of hell’s strong signature motifs (his passion for subversion, his great kosmiche canvases, sudden throbbing bursts of dancefloor dynamism, subtle songcraft) yet it sounds unlike anything hell has ever created before. there are very few big club singles. a delicate balance of classical dramatic orchestral tension and evocative futuristic synthesis runs throughout. dark and light, hope and fear, fast and slow, day and night.over the course of one hour helmut josef geier invites you on a musical trip of a lifetime his lifetime, your lifetime, music’s lifetime.
schneeweiss v: a collaboration of neighbours. over the years, oliver koletzki has continuously cited berlin as a point of reference and, more importantly, a source of inspiration. two of his albums großstadtmärchen and großstadtmärchen 2 have been a direct ode to the capital.
