after the successful solaris vinyl on this tracks we keep the rhythm grooving with our fresh innovative views on the donna summer/giorgio moroder hit from the 70s. this remixes on the tom tom club version from 2000 give a splendid atmosphere on the visionary tunes that mark the beginning of the disco house area. some funky tech house mixes flourishing in its disco beats round up this record in a minimalistic electronic approach. our fabulous artists show once again their magnetic skills and vitalize the plutonic waves with its magnificent love rhymes of the hot original hitsong. we recover this pearl with a unique approach to bring back a special tune into our time. the release with its saturated colourful sounds zooms the meaning of love into present times and generates a new vision from the past.

the solar phenomena label welcomes achim maerz for its fifth ep. the hamburg producer is an associate of labels like don’t be afraid, where last year he released his mini-album of rough and ready house tracks that are improvised and innovative. the four cuts he serves up here are just as special and have an ethereal air to them.
in my house opens things up with serene synth work and lush detroit stylings. it’s a deep and widescreen track that encourages you to dream. fresh air is a little more upright, with rattling hits and pixelated, long tailed synths lingering above the rooted drums. as the title suggests, leaving this planet is a cosmic exploration, with ambient keys and meditative atmospheres joined by only the most subtle and suggestive sense of rhythm way down below. last of all is two times, a beautiful deep house track with deft synths drifting, bleeding and wandering off into a starry night sky. all in all, then, these are truly thoughtful house tracks.

hell yeah s next vinyl ep is a first solo release since 2012 from the vendetta suite aka belfasts gary irwin. it features six tracks all handpicked by label boss marco from vast unreleased vaults that have already been played by david holmes and andrew weatherall, and it comes with a great backstory

having previously impressed for burek and five fold separately, berlin based italian duo autre and two thou teamed up for a split record on croatian fields & forests imprint. the record showcases a nice combination of eclectic rhythms, funky basses and spacey solos but despite its club signature and retro-futuristic vibe, solar society is still more of a cosmic porch burner rather than a dancefloor banger.

production duo mark richards & james eliot aka solardo are the next to make their mark on hot creations with tribesme, delivering two heavy-duty cuts destined to stir serious heat in the club. already doing the rounds worldwide at the hands of some of the biggest names in the business, tribesmen and psycho girlfriend are built straight for the dancefloor around dense and heavy basslines, punchy percussion and prominent vocal slices. hailing from manchester, solardo are continuing the citys rich heritage in house music whilst carving out their own sound in the house and techno scene with releases on madtech, mta records and more recently of unsound mind. their string of successful releases has gained them an army of fans across the board from jamie jones to jackmaster. the pair also run a weekly radio show on rinse fm and are residents of the well known kaluki party as well as running their own successful event series, solardo sessions.

after releasing one of lobster theremin’s biggest eps in the shape of “rules”, we’re please to finally see panthera krause back in the lobster den with a trippy, head-spinning white label of lucid house and acid.
drawing from a spectrum of electronic-island tropes blended with early 90’s rave, krause develops the chunky mpc-led sound of that first ep by adding layers of shimmer synth work, clanging piano samples, intergalactic acid processing and proper brain-churning drones from beyond the purple sea.

as hot as ever the new ep from our siberian disco friends is finally landing into theomatic’s catalogue. the title track solar wind is a rhodes driven hands-in-the-air early night anthem: simple yet powerful, just the way we like it! the flipside features an offbeat cosmic number “planetarium” which sounds like a perfect soundtrack for some colourful sci-fi cartoon about the early years of space exploration, with all those rockets, flying saucers, stars and comets with long tails. the bonus track (available as a digital download only) is named after the soviet moon exploration robot vehicle lunokhod 2 (’moon walker’ in russian) which was sent to the moon in 1973. being rather minimalistic at the begining it slowly evolves and reaches its apogee closer to the end with calm and beautiful melody which leaves the listener in a peaceful mood

klas henrik lindbald aka sasse the man behind the moodmusic label headlining the scene since 1996 is now back on tep after his remix of your love alongside james flavour. sasse delivers a brillant track entitled the solaris conspiracy + a great ambient mix. on remix duties we have martin dawson under his king roc alias & francis inferno orchestra.

daniel solar is one half of dikso, the excellent edits imprint responsible for many a disco-rinsed dancefloor burner over the last year. the hannover native is also one of berlins emergent talents, a dj, producer, label owner and a&r intent on bridging the gap between disco and dance music, while coaxing the techno-loving citys tastes a little further off the beaten track.
as a child of the early 80s, daniel was strongly influenced by synth pop and dance music, before rap and hip hop caught his imagination and inspired his first forays into production. once he had finished school, daniel became more and more and intrigued with house and techno, clubs and raves, and his studio style expanded to take in electro, techno, and deep house until we arrive at today and his latest release: too much light ep.
