earlier this year, the 21yearold valentin stip unveiled his debut album on nicolas jaars other people records. on sigh, stip presented classical piano, lightly sputtering grooves and intimate found sounds into an album of compositional grace and emotional honesty. now comes reinterpretations from lovil who are the combined talents of max loderbauer and ricardo villalobos, creating an elegant and organic movement that takes the static fizzes of pendule to new heights. additionally an equally bold and experimental rework of tableaux ii comes courtesy of oren ratowsky & solpara. pressing on 180 gram vinyl.

several years ago, valentin stip was sitting alone by a harbor in the small french town where his parents grew up. >i heard all the sailing strings hit the masts, and i realized that every sound you hear is potentially music,< he says. >the only thing that makes sound into music is the mind, arranging it.< since then, valentin stip has been building a bridge between the sounds that live inside and outside his head.

muffler tears it up on this latest release from sigh co records. on the a side >dirrrty< kicks off with suspensful strings before dropping into a tech based stormer with its grumbling bass and rolling beats. whilst on the aa >mankind< keeps the groove more minimal, relying on the b line which sounds like a digeridoo on crack with subtle hooks and stepped beats.
