sos gunver ryberg, aïsha devi, rrose and paula temple are the four artists collaborating for decon/recon 2. the new record will be released as limited edition vinyl on noise manifesto. in this collaboration series, each artist has produced a track from all the artists sounds, yet the release credits all four artists equally on all four tracks. it is a symbolic act for reducing hierarchy, ego attachment in identity, preferring instead to shift the focus towards affinity. paula temple describes the bond in this second collaboration as every artist in this release approaches their creative energy particularly connected towards a more shamanistic mindset. when you listen to the progression of their music, it feels like the physical and mental realms we accept as reality and function within are being stripped away. maybe that is weird to say about underground dance music, but i find the journeys each of these artists take you on are very exciting in how they affect you.

we present you the debut of denise rabe on arts collective, impressive music from this rising star, penumbra is energetic, romantic and solid. this release becomes gold with the special rework done from rrose.

rrose returns to eaux with three new spellbinding techno tracks. *levitate* starts patiently with cosmic difference tones and sub bass bursts leading to the sudden drop of hammering, polyrhythmic drums, while *vellum* is a syncopated, percussion-heavy ride through frequency modulated peaks and belly-churning valleys. on side b, *signs* takes us on an extended journey made up of resonant kicks and inner-ear arpeggios that fold in on themselves until they finally become invisible.

rrose and lucy need little introduction as heads of eaux and stroboscopic artefacts (respectively), their influence on the direction of techno in the last five years is undeniable. rather than crafting a style to be imitated, they pursue an approach that welcomes unpredictable results, with the intention of stimulating uncharted areas of the mind through sound and rhythm. the first lotus eaters collaboration appeared on stroboscopic artefacts in 2016. for their follow up on eaux, the pair go deeper into lucy s analog modular forest, searching for those essential elements that will yield alchemical results. inner membrane undulates with ring modulated tones that stretch like liquid metal, patiently building up dancefloor energy with only the barest of percussive elements. on the b side, inverted limb takes a similarly minimal approach, utilizing two tones, a bass drum, and hi-hats to maximum effect. the ep closes with seeds of discontent a swirl of feedback and noise that is both soothing and unsettling, leaving us wondering what will come next

whereas many electronic producers aim at being the most prolific in their genre, or the most extreme, lucy and rrose have wisely chosen to be the most consistently curiosity-provoking representatives of their craft.

sensation/clear was phantasys momentous fiftieth release, and the first studio transmission from daniel avery since his acclaimed lp, drone logic. now, both tracks are remixed in distinctive fashion by two fellow outliers on the fringes of psychedelic, experimental techno. acclaimed producer and eaux records mastermind rrose commits a typically ambitious and sonically experimental redux to sensation. while retaining much of the originals hypnotic, almost celestial groove, its atmospherics are transformed into something altogether more alien and overwhelming, culminating in an epic yet utterly earned conclusion of visceral noise. abdulla rashim meanwhile guides the sound of clear into deeper territory still, engineering an initially unassuming remix that ultimately reveals layer upon layer of painstaking detail. polyrhythmic bass lines interlock expertly from the beginning, gradually unfolding while never relenting.

rrose is a recording artist for sandwell district, eaux and stroboscopic artefacts labels - james tenny was an electronic & computer music pioneer and one of americas greatest composers short info: rrose has found her own niche in the american techno underground. her hypnotic tracks incorporate ideas from ambient and minimalist music as prominently as they do the history of dance music, operating in the same fruitful cross-section between techno and the abstract as many other further records releases. the vinyl ep includes a postcard and download code.

sandwell districts rrose launches a new label with a follow up to >motormouth variations<, last years unlikely collaboration with legendary improviser and synthesizer pioneer bob ostertag (named one of 2011s top 50 albums by the wire magazine).
for the debut release on eaux, rrose searched through ostertags cassette archives to discover a lost gem of studio improvisation from 1977. >the surgeon general< sees the barely post-teen bob ostertag exploring feedback techniques with an early buchla modular synthesizer, tape delay, flute and violin. the results are uncharacteristically moody, spacious, and well ahead of their time. on the flip, rrose provides two new revisions. >no child left behind< is a noisy and hypnotic acid-laden beast designed for dancefloor damage, while >her insides laid bare< takes the original into murky subaquatic territory. look for much more to come from rrose and eaux in the coming months.
