WANNA GIVE IT UP (INCL LEGO, DR PACKER & JAMIE 3:26 REMIXES)
12" Vinyl UK11.07.17
ralphi rosario is a pioneer of house music, kicking off an influential dj career in chicago when he was still in high school. the remixes and productions that followed have garnered him #1 billboard dance chart hits as well as more than 20 well-respected years spinning records. he’s an artist who represents the ethos of glitterbox recordings, with decades of quality house music history woven into every beat. also in line with the spirit of the label, ‘wanna give it up’ is a classic track given some very tasteful modern updates, from dr packer and jamie 3:26. the familiar ‘légo’s dub’ from the original release is present and correct, alongside a suitably funked-up version from disco edits maestro dr packer. finally, fellow chicagoan jamie 3:26 amps the party up a further notch with some irresistible clinking percussion and a lazy-cool groove.
luckyme are very proud to present the ‘rosario ep from s-type.s-types rise started in spring 2012. emerging, gleaming and show-stopping from rustie’s seminal bbc essential mix was a track called ‘billboard’ from a new producer that was part of the luckyme family as far back as his teenage years. the track had soundcloud and blog commentators looking around for the hugest most galactic superlatives for this ‘superhero’ music. as skyscraping as the biggest us hip hop instrumentals but born of the ferment of glasgow’s world-wowing club world, it made it into end of year ‘best of’ polls as well as the dj sets of rustie, tnght, and benji b. s-type aka 27 yo scot bobby perman started getting recognised down the shops glasgow. he was catapulted onto a 30 + date us tour and found himself in the studio with kindred spirits araabmuzik and baauer. there were rumours of national electronic goods adverts in south korea and s-type tracks in the running for inclusion on drakes nothing was the same album. on 19th sept 2013, the buzz started all over again as luckyme family member Éclair fifi dropped a new s-type tune ‘rosario’ on her bbc radio 1 in new djs we trust show. now luckyme can announce the wait is over. lm017 aka s-type’s ‘rosario’ ep is coming out on 16/6/2014. ‘rosario’ sets the scene with a 2 min intro called ‘outside (inside)’, featuring rustie and yc the cynic, a rapper from hunts pont, the bronx that xxl called ‘one of the most promising artists in recent years’, the complex wordplay sounding perfect over bobby’s wide screen arrangement. ‘franco’ is a fierce club banger with plenty of his signature chord work. ‘lost girls’ stunts and fizzes in the way only an s-type track can. for the outro ‘inside (outro)’, bobby’s sweeping instrumental sets the scene for long island mc (and one time flipmode squad member) roc marciano, who sharply describes the beat as ‘historic’. s-type addicts, he’s back. early dj support from hudmo, kode 9, baauer, joker, rl grime and jackmaster.

ROSARIO / U GIVE ME LOVE (MIC NEWMAN / NICOLAS RMXS)
12" Vinyl UK16.07.13
loft records is a brand new, london-based vinyl imprint and the label kicks off with a double header from ejeca and citizen, backed with remixes from mic newman and nicholas. loft has, so far, no intention of dropping any further hints as to what the label plans are other than increasing cardiovascular activity but it has tapped into some of the strongest names around with its debut 12 inch.
the process of artistic creation is fundamentally determined by the environment of the artist. some cities and geographical locations are synonymous with the artistic techniques and crafts in which their populations became specialized. the muted and subtle sunsets of monets paintings are nothing else but a truthful interpretation of the actual nuances of a parisian twilight - along with a great dose of the artistic wizardry.
these cities and their artistic communities, are the legendary ones that remain in history. defending a fantastic track record in electronic music throughout recent times, rosario - the capital city of the santa fe province in argentina - is one of these places.
franco cinelli, nico purman, andres zacco and jorge savoretti are the leading figures who have, over the last decade, turned rosario into the great sound lab that it is. while developing their own sound and story individually, these boys never forget about their common origin, and the vibe that truly unites them together. on this occasion, they all come around remixing their young friend capes >le post< ep.
this record is pure mother of pearl. it is a tribute to rosario and its prolific actors.
after the huge success of the last exun (dj all*star & l.e.a.) this is the perfect follow up! especially before the summer break! big electronic basslines surrounded by sublime melodies and big breaks! both sides got everything, if you need the crowd to go mad. big with karotte, tobi neumann and pascal feos
after the big success of its limited vinyl series starting throughout the year 2015, the annual summary of pearls, masterpieces and top selling releases continues with the best of kittball special edition on black gold, reflecting its most essential tunes within the past period.
the voodoo ep is nicks final contribution to 8bits 2016 catalogue, and its another banger for sure. turning to darker synths and forward rhythms, the label head once more put together secret dance weapons to take over floors worldwide. these bad boys are full of energy and charged with techno - let them dance!
33 offers the most fine and rare form of sensitivity. nery blends electronic and acoustic patterns as if they grew up together, proving that having differentiated influences can result in something particular.

founded way back in 91, z records have since amassed a lauded and plentiful collection of singles, albums and compilations. run by dave lee aka joey negro, the label has enjoyed success through his unique ability to foster the principles of underground dance music whilst also remaining mindful of commercial appeal. through various compilations, mr lee has consistently delved deep into the heart of a specific genre or era and selecting a lesser-known series of tracks that give a real insight into the spirit and energy that made that point in time special. whether it’s been gogo, brit funk, boogie, italo house or straight up disco, he has mined deep into his extensive bank of influences and also enlisted the help of some of his most clued-up comrades in offering some unforgettable collections of classics. next up - he pulls together a collection of his favourite moments across a definitive decade for house and garage: the 90’s.
