vincenzo needs little introduction - the veteran producer and dj has been a fixture on the scene for years, releasing his distinctive brand of classy deep and techy house on a number of key labels. returning to poker flat, he teams up with the mega talented cari golden for this killer three track ep. cari hails from la, an accomplished singer & songwriter and a part of band narcotourist. she lends her skills to never go back a lush yet edgy deep bomb built around slinky groove shot through with vincenzos trademark drama and tension. cari brings the track to the next level with her vocals - both seductive and cautionary. smash tv (holger zilske and kai preussner) bring a sick remix to the table with their version - heading to deeper territory and seemingly primed for the after hours vibe. next up is thats the way an instrumental that sees vincenzo revel in some old school chord progressions and tension / release dynamics to make a sure-fire floor weapon.

the first release from erdenkinder comes from germany offenbach label founders vincenzo esposito and frankfurts b-zet who is one oft he pioneers of the electronice music scene in early 90s, when he also produced people like sven väth. his biggest hit everlasting pictures was on eye q records, which was re-released by laith al-deen in german language. meanwhile he was keyboarding for people like quincy jones and sheila e. the record has four versions on a1 the original while on a2 b-zet own interpretation of the title track. the flip starts with the well known frankfurt artist rey &kjavik (rkjvk) with his new school and old school, deeply rooted within hip-hop culture influences. b2 comes from cécille records label head marc scholl.

vincenzo maurices debut ep is a four-tracker, covering the range of hard hitting & distorted analog techno including a sturdy acid tinge while on the b2 we have die roh who delivers a perfect remix to bring the record back to its shaky shaky house vibe.

a return to vr from ben sun, who delves into deeper territory on the original cut, emotive analogue synths washing over a roland drum groove and a swirling female vocal, all underpinned by a warm, rumbling bassline. the flipside features some heavyweight remix work from the prolific deep space orchestra (use of weapons, art, delusions of grandeur) and label mate tyson ballard teaming up with vincenzo (poker flat, dessous). vincenzo and ballards mix is a heavy hitting, moody take on the original, with subtle, dark strings and a growling, evolving bassline, while dso round off the release with trademark fat drums and soaring melodic synth work.
