gitanes is olde gods new ep and longest output to date. following a series of singles on the minor planets label, the barcelona duo are up to a 12inch four-tracker on amsterdams atomnation. gitanes brings echoes from spains not-long gone golden club era. its cover depicts an abandoned club from the 90s in a coastal town in the mediterranean, could be anywhere from valencia to barcelona. all four tracks are trippy yet solid-grounded, spacey voices and strings leads all flying up and magically suspended over gross rhythmical foundations. dear cz, a fetiche track, built around a moody casio cz synth stab topped up with acid videogame-like crazyness. gitanes brings entrancing vocals intertwined with more cz pad action. all around is a foggy and paranoid late-night drive, and none of these bitches, a homesick folks walk around tokyos daikanyama area. olde gods are jmii and guillamino
minor planets is releasing olde gods third ep, a record that will give completion to their first movement of releases started with a 7inch, followed by a 10inch and ended by this 12inch. the planet is growing big! haru matsuri ep comes with two originals and a fresh approach on the word remix, bringing together a remix of one of their original tracks by brooklyns finest octo octa, plus a re-remix of that same track, back to the hands of the olde gods.
following up on their recently released pertiwi ep, featuring two original tracks and a 10 minute soundbath rework of this very record by gonjasufi, gamelan voices (aka nid & sancy) present their first album, aptly titled i.the result is a visceral blend of raw gamelan instruments, atmosperic synths, bass guitar and washes of asian metallophones.although the nine tracks on this album are meditative in nature, you d be wrong to assume this package is little more than new age synths noodling away. i is ambient with a raw component. it touches a nerve and it s as much inspired by the work of jon hassell as it is by coil. i will be released through gong ear and available on digital,cd and vinyl.

the third installment in numeros series of otherworldly gospel, robed funk, and spiritual soul, apocryphal hymns is a slim new gospel songbook, penned powerfully by the genres lesser-known disciples. here, heavenly harmonies, psychedelic guitars, damaged sacred steel, a bleeding french horn, off-kilter choirs, and consumer-side electronic percussion decorate the word, with performance modes that stray far from the flock, but hew always to the message. in homage to the stock jacket record industry of the 1970s, select one of these four alternate covers: woodland twilight, seashore morning, mountain waterfall, and sunbeam canyon.
