dutch producer and live act conforce is back with autonomous , a fifth artist album and the latest in his long relationship with delsin records. conforce is boris bunnik, a producer who explores the deepest realms of dub, house, techno and electro under many different names. his conforce alias is where his most club orientated material comes from and this new nine track album finds the transcendent label boss producing dark syntheses inspired by his hometown and harbour city, rotterdam, and its automated industries. a masterfully conceptual album that really paints a vivid picture of a harbour as heard from deep down in the depths.

tafi allstars is a collaborative recording project between optimo music artists thomas lea clarke (mr tc) and conal blake (whilst) and members of the tafi cultural institute of tafi atome, ghana. after having previously visited tafi atome to take part in the music of the volta region study tours that are organised by tci in collaboration with green door studio, clarke and blake secured funding from creative scotland to travel back to tafi in november 2016 to record a mini-album of tracks that blend the rhythms and melodies of traditional borborbor and agbadza drumming forms and ewe songwriting with electronic instrumentation and dub recording techniques.

monomood returns to his dubby roots with his fantastic laid back and atmospheric ep unexpected perceptions on etui records. remembering the frost and darkness, the first track wjnter can’t hide it’s origin. cold chords and warm synths are creating the unique feeling of gloomy days in winter. with spuukj dub on the flip you get a reduced echo-tool with haunting vocals and complex delay structures. finally monomood layers some pads and reverbs in the last track dronje before breaking up the tune with a stunning piano & string combination. goosebumps.

youth stand up! is a collaborative recording project between glasgows green door studio, lebeha drumming center in hopkins, belize, and the tafi cultural institute based in tafi atome, ghana. the results of the collaboration are this nine track album released on autonomous africa. all proceeds from the youth stand up! album sales will be split between tuteme band, belize and tafi cultural institute’s fund to build their recording studio and cultural centre. there will be two 12inches released in late 2015 / early 2016 featuring remixes of tracks from the album by jd twitch, midland, auntie flo and hodge. the 12inches will eau also include an additional bonus track recorded at the original sessions.

this edit of malis amadou & mariam ce nest pas bon (originally created in 2008 for my dj sets) was supposed to be included on the recently released third autonomous africa 12inch. unfortunately i didnt get permission to use it in time for that release but permission has now been given, so rather than wait for aa 004 in 2015 it is going to come out as a limited edition hand stamped 10inch as soon as possible. all proceeds will once again go to the mtandika mission in tanzania -www.actioninafrica.org/about-mtandika.php a big thanks to ben ufo and midland for championing this edit. the interest they generated directly led to the motivation for this release.

this is the third autonomous africa ep, the idea being that one ep is released each year and all proceeds are donated to a charity in africa. last years second volume, along with a fundraising night in glasgow and another in london raised several thousand pounds for the mtandika mission in tanzania (more info on that below).

abstract animal gives a warm welcome to french techno talent leghau who already left his footprints on len fakis figure imprint or electric rescues skryptom. here he delivers two peak time techno smashers that got remixed by m.a.d.a. & plankton and chief animal monomood.

relating back to the etui records roots of monomood, abstract animal presents the remixes of absolute control that originally appeared on etuiltd 003. who can be more suitable for transforming the heavy chord sounds of the original into a forward pushing floor behemoth than 50 weapons multi talented sound artist benjamin damage? in addition to that monomood took a re-edit of his own track and put a even more dark and industrial feel on it. to close the circle etui records mastermind and dresdens very own insect o. converts the originals four to floor rhythm to a broken beat machine funk monster.

animal 004 introduces the alchemyst project by the two argentinian techno artist julixo and frederik who show us two creations of metallic dub techno and raw beat structures. on the b side code is law mastermind moerbeck puts some spooky atmosphere to the title track and monomood turns lucy into a chord driven funk monster.

on the third release abstract animal returns to heavy peaktime techno. on the a side you can bear witness monomoods ten minute analog threesome with his machines. on the b-side the fachwerk mastermind mike dehnert transforms the acid - vault, taken from the shtum001, into a dark and hypnotic techno cellar. rumbling rhythms and sharp pads keep your mind awake, when monomoods *the siren* on b1 howls through your ears.

many of the problems africa faces are a result of outside interference by other countries, and as the 21st century progresses we will see the continued pillage of african resources to feed the global capitalist machine on an unprecedented scale.

the second release features multi talented uncanny valley artist jacob stoy. his fascinating bassline cruiser >s51< from the uv 010 is being properly tuned by monomood into a massive acid dirt bike racer, that leaves torn soil behind. on the b side you get another deep techno mover called >dominate< as well as a detroitish and dubby remix by jacob stoy...

humans are an abstraction of animal life form – and this is their soundtrack. on the first release monomood shows some light. but the light is pulsating in stroboscopic rhythms and enlightens shadows of moving creatures locked into a murky basement. if this is too disturbing for you, the well known grounded theory mastermind henning baer slows down the frequency to turn the raging floor into a dark moving mass hypnosis. after that you can recognize some dark scientists are brewing a fascinating cocktail out of boiling bass anddistorted sounds capes. drink it and you will know!

psst! shtum is the new sublabel of dresdens uncanny valley and it is created for proper techno and raw house tracks, music best listened to in a room full of strobe light and fog. right at the start youll get monomood with three dark and powerful tracks. parameter one is one of those techno stompers you cant help but fiercely nod your head to. the lyrics in the crafter might suggest it but actually nobody is afraid of the dark. not even after hell breaks loose with unrelenting chords. also, vault takes no prisoners while keeping the cellar door shut with its nasty acid lines and raw drum work. the musical concept has been interpreted visually by aram haydeyan and uncanny valley artist jacob stoy.

first up is tabou for the people by sofrito specials featuring l barrabas which twitch edited for his dj sets a couple of years back. the lovely people at sofrito kindly gave permission for it to be included on this release. its a relentlessly driving slab of 4/4 afro funk with horn explosions. next up is the 10th and final track in twitchs cumbia series. the first 8 were released on japans lets get lost label and the missing number 9 is being saved for a future release. colombias cumbia was born out of african influences. this track is based around a sample from colombian cumbia legend andres landero and is an attempt to fuse traditional cumbia sounds with up to date production styles. the end result is a slow motion hypnotic cumbia retaining the haunting melancholia inherent in the original sample. leading the aa side, twitch passed a wild highlife song by ghanas atakoru manu to glasgows super talented auntie flo (whose highly recommended future rhythm machine album recently saw a release) to play around with. auntie flo cut it up and added additional drums and bass to come up with this euphoric modern highlife groover

thinking too much/where the helios is juk juks second release on nommos. thinking too much is the most direct juk juk release so far. its peak time fare, aimed squarely at the dancefloor. the dreamy intro will fool the unsuspecting, sucking them in and propelling them on a tripped out ride on a techno ghost train, buffered by a cushion of warm throbbing bass. where the helios is the real dream side. a floating, hallucinogenic, spaced out drift, driven by a crisp, pared back rhythm and a gorgeous, woozy vocal- led melody. juk juks first release for nommos was unwrap/fall and before that his debut, winter turn spring/frozen, was put out by kieran (four tet) hebden on his highly regarded text label. all juk juks output to date has been critically acclaimed, coverage including fact magazine, pitchfork, mix mag, abeano, the fader amongst others. his releases have also received significant club and radio plays including mainstream radio 1 support from admirers giles peterson and rob da bank, who has promised support for this release. four tet said the room went off when playing thinking too much at a recent event.

willie graff & tuccillo have had a steady flow of releases helping build reputation with an emphasis on quality over quantity. individually and together they have released on labels such as delusions of grandeur, third ear, 2020 vision and rebirth. most recently they have enjoyed success following the release of brilliant releases on circus company and isgud. the duo have just remixed charles websters new single and have a busy schedule of productions and remixes to fit in around their busy dj schedules (willie is resident at cielo in nyc and pachas funky room in ibiza).

>xenomorph / vespertilio< follows up peter kruders >law of return< track, that was a highlight, both in the music world in 2009 and in macros ever brilliant catalogue - and one of the now most sought after recent vinyl collectors records. xenomorph takes off where law of return ended. 2012 couldnt start deeper: detail rich, dreamy, pushing enthusiastically forward into the new year. vespertilio then moves between the off-centre sound aesthetics of a morricone soundtrack and the intensity of hypermodern subbass droppings. this is an irresistably deep double package, exceeding even the boldest expectations. a masterpiece. no more, no less.

with the start of its new limited vinyl series, dresden label etui records is returning to its musical roots of the late 90s. they retrace detroit techno and simultaneously transfer dub techno into an up-to-date audio frame. the etuiltd001 monomood >oktrosis< ep is released as a black/red marble vinyl, limited to 300 copies.

on this we find the duet of miche and mirzinho from croatia, owner of propeller rec., tech art, and already produced on yin yang, pornographic rec, pattern, and resident in club the cube, pula, croatia. they deliver four tracks, one track funky with a good classic synth and 3 tracks powerful tribal techno, with good breaks for re-launching the peoples... an ep for shaking the dancefloor all night!

fabrizio and marco d arcangelo are monomorph and made these 3 doses of pumping acid for molecular recordings in 1998.

the latest ep from sierra sam (toysforboys records, umf, co-producer for ur s suburban knight). includes two drastically different reinterpretations from camea (clink music) and bloody mary (sender records).
