mm audio announce his own upcoming ep from astronomy domine, and a special remixes from wrong assessment and pacou. feeling across the spirituality and north uk pagan festivities, inspirational and minimalist jump. >imbolc< is a live jam. candles, incense, drum machine, moog sub 37, vocoder. imbolc is an otherworldly trip, pulverising and deeply work. lammas, composed by old percussions, used for a rituals, an immediate tension, scrupulous and impactful. a true mesmeric dip. pacou would spin immediately, with balanced and sophisticated percs, behind an esoteric drone. wrong assessment begins insightful, a fine pad, intense, portly, for sensibilities are mind expanding. 180 g – marbled vinyl
privately pressed to lp in 1978 under the name j. jasmine and made especially for the ann arbor film festival, with artistic collaboration from the festival’s founder and once group artist, george manupelli, my new music is the debut album by jacqueline humbert and david rosenboom. featuring a cast of mills college personalities like david behrman and sam ashley on backup vocal duties, this song cycle is at every turn boundary-pushing and gender-busting, yet still hilarious, sweet, and genuine, all delivered in a post-genre, art-song, cabaret musical style that happens to boast some serious avant-garde chops, courtesy of rosenboom. if it weren’t so spot on, you’d swear it was a guilty pleasure. as j. jasmine writes, my new music is a collection of personal stories and private desires, exposed, articulated, performed and dedicated to the hope that one person’s fantasies can contribute to another person’s freedom. get lost in j. jasmine’s world for a little long while, and be free.
mm audio has decided to launch a series of various artists periodically. the first of the series includes four different artists with four original tracks. different sounds sought in the scene of young talents who have expressed their sound for this ep.
debut solo single from aaron frazer of durand jones & the indications. aaron’s super sweet, silvery falsetto was featured on “is it any wonder?” on the indications’ debut lp, but aaron steps out here with some low-down gospel soul with some help from friends including eli paperboy reed.
deep site recordings presents karmine roscianos >sending my love ep<, exclusively on vinyl. karmine is no stranger to deep house fans around the globe with damn fine releases on imprints like um records, incepto deep, and city life. first off on the ep is his original track, sending my love. its a smooth deep funk dancefloor number peppered with groovy guitar, lush orchestral pads, and a sweet female vocal refrain. next up is a melodic and resplendent remix by vincenzo (dessous). placing the vocals more upfront, he then adds a wickedly infectious garage styled bassline and electric piano chords over the original sounds, creating a scorchingly deep track. the third song is another original from karmine, with you. beautiful piano lines coupled with funk bass and guitar flourishes soar over a driving deep house structure that accentuates a percussive discothèque feel. the final tune is a remix from alex neivel (large music/rvs). taking the original elements to a completely new place, alex emphasizes the late night mood with rich floating pads, dark spacey atmospherics, as well as perfectly timed rhythmical pauses.
second of two new bass-infected dub ep s with a hint of techno by the japanese mystica tribe. titletrack stars are mine and his temple immediately set off to deep dub and bass territories in these two typical mystica tribe excursions: grooving, but dark with lots of effects and tribal influences. prayer evolves around a catchy melodica that wont leave your head for days or maybe even weeks and zen stone tops it off perfectly with this gloomy scifi dubtrip.
producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist dead seal aka derrick boyd has been on the scene for a number of years, releasing a debut album on maverick west coast label auralism and building a reputation for his energetic live performances. but it seems that his time in the international spotlight is about to arrive with some of the coolest labels around flocking to him for remixes and productions: boyd has recently been drafted in by damian lazarus for remix duties on crosstown rebels, is set to record a full length album for jonny art department whites no19 music label and has been snapped up by kings of canada, my favorite robot for this superb new single. more quality from the team at my favorite robot records and a single from an artist who we are certain to be hearing a lot more of in the months to come!
sue zukis inaugural recorded document the we are all very anxious tape is in our opinion one of the most innovative audio expeditions that has resonated with us. boldly defying and deconstructing conventional genre tropes we arent being bias by saying that either. this is a genuinely sincere perspective. the key to sue zukis music is her vocals where she misanthropically preaches the records themes of psychological alienation and despair, trapped within an augmented virtual reality. whilst trapped and unable to properly function inside this distorted simulation there are the bewildering sounds of a thousand voices and every conversation unhealthily looping inside yourre mind, through the echo chamber. manifesting into a bleak neurotic obsession and feelings of inadequacy, a desperate plea, blinded and fatigued by the unnerving glare of the computer screen, processing too much information and not knowing if the human interactions youre experiencing are genuine or artificial.
a little bit of somethin’ is a quietly majestic gem. brimming with guerrero’s horizontal “loose grooves”, these brief but innovative instrumentals demonstrate a rich variety and, as such, comprise an lp that is aptly titled. an enchanting start-to-finish listen, it was instantly regarded as essential upon release via mo wax in 2000. it has aged remarkably well.
this fresh limited edition has been remastered, cut on to heavyweight double vinyl and is presented in a deluxe gatefold jacket.
chicago godfather mike dunn presents a new album thats fuelled by a pumping heart of pure house and a body of powerful analogue muscle. my house from all angle is a record destined to fully reinstate this already respected figure at the upper echelon. despite releasing countless classics like face the nation, god made me phunky, let it be house and personal problem, plus plenty more underground gems under pseudonyms like qx-1, the jass man, the phunky people and the md connection this is mike s first longplayer since 1990. the album title represents the different styles of mike’s large and long-standing catalogue that’s beloved of both diggers and djs alike. a master of deep stroboscopic acid, booty jackers, hip house and groovy us house/garage all are represented within.
those who physically suffer from dopamine depletion seek ways to experience maximized pleasure. hong kongs hyper everything enfant terrible, s.y. delivers a much darker complex ep than his two previous offerings under a new alias, a creative therapy of sorts apparently dealing with substance abuse and unstable mental conditions which luckily for everyone translates into more leftfield dancefloor gold with the brilliantly nondescript $ lfo and weirdo power drive of the title track on a side, followed on the flip by a surprisingly beautiful ode to concrete music, and a deeply haunting field recording piece that closes a perfectly round ep... or does it? sleeve artwork by matt damhave
“the elixir is the essence of being able to control your future with elements of both the past and present. i live through my music only to progress towards a better day.” - aaron rose
after shedding his former pseudonym of a la $ole, pro era member aaron rose dropped a number of noteworthy singles and killed every guest feature. but with the release of his new ep, ‘elixir,’ the brooklyn rapper has never sounded more focused or motivated, and it’s only a taste of what’s to come from the young artist.
after a run of club-ready 12”s, the fifth no bad days release slows the pace right down. on the views from my shed ep, long-standing friend of nbd james booth breaks in new alias the gardener with an easy-going record inspired by nature and sure to inspire relaxed, repeat listens.

both tracks are an orgy of dark analog synths, old skool percussions and perfectly placed breaks, which keeps you in tension from the first to the last beat. the perfect weapons to raise to hell any dancefloor. b sides calms down a bit with a great dose of deep house with a tasty south american flavor. emerging peruvian artists israel vich & jairo betancourt (get physical, king street), delight us with your control .
