dimitri from paris and his brother in crime dj rocca come back to gomma with a new 3 track ep. dimitri is a legend! from his playboy mansion compilations to his own tracks, his always inspiring dj sets and most of all: his never disappointing edits (prince: i wanna be your lover!). let s put it like this: probably there is not one dj with taste on this planet that hasn t got his personal dimitri from paris favorite track in his bag. dimitri has been doing consistently good music over the last 20 years. since he first appeared with his very parisian album sacrebleu in 1996. he quickly became a worldwide respected european first league eclectic disco djs - along with dj harvey and ashley beedle. he officially remixed hundreds of artists. from björk and new order to michael jackson. he also produced los amigos invisibles -super pop venezuela- album which grabbed a nomination for a grammy award. some years ago he teamed up with italian producer, dj and man of many talents dj rocca. rocca might be known to many for his work as ajello and crimea x. he also produced music for cosmic dj hero baldelli. dimitri and rocca have a magic touch. together they have been doing 3 eps for gomma. this is the fourth ep. new school booty electronic disco. glamorous as ever. nasty as always.

this vinyl ep is a collaboration between paris label correspondant and germanys gomma records. remixes by los angeles finest psychedelic electronic producer secret circuit (beats in space records) and german shooting star lauer (partner of gerd janson at tuff city kids). why this ep? gomma has a long history with the paris scene. mathias munk modica who runs gomma (and sublabel toy tonics) has been living in france for many years. he worked with many parisian artists from dj chloe (on munks first album aperitivo 2004) to the ed banger crew or black strobe. probably apart of berlin there is no city in the world that saw more gomma events than paris. seems only a project with jennifer cardini missed. so jennifer invited mathias last year to send over tracks. decision was made fast. and so wurlitzer wank and the bösus bounce have come up on correspondant.

barotti is a musician and contemporary multimedia artist based in berlin. after years of working on urban sound installations, performing arts and experimental music, he is now releasing his debut album. a soundtrack for fantastic futuristic fairytales. epic and symphonic - with a deep electronic base. armed with iconic analog gear of the 1970s and 1980s, a hand-picked group of high level classical string and horn players and the whole imaginary world of his absurd fantasies, barotti is opening up a new dimension in the vast field between contemporary classical and electronic music.

hessismore are a 7 person musicans collective based in new york and copenhagen around musical mastermind mikkel hess. they released their gomma debut ep last july. strange, beautiful music from outta space. balinese marimbas, african drums, spooky voices - great new music. now here come the remixes. dimitri from paris did an effective, supersexy disco stomper. keeping a lot from the original version. the crazy voices, the punk funk feel, the moody, new wave atmopshere. but now its a club bomb. then williamsburgs hidden underground star lorne dune reworked the other song. in a more edgy, distorted way. beautiful. then you have a version by munichs pollyester. the former bass player of munk now has gone solo. she does this kind of naive, early 80ies, powerdisco you could hear at clubs like the loft oder dj harvey playing. orgastic hardcore disco rock

these days house music is often about a 4/4 beat and a catchy groove. the idea is to do something simple to which you can get your groove and, and not so much about listening. the borders of electronic dance music makes room for the hypnotic beats, the driving grooves, but not always the melodic universes. leman & dieckmann have been making music for several years, both together and apart, but almost all of their music was driven mainly by the beat. but both having an urge to discover the dynamics of melodic synths and melodic percussion they decided to make an album. they agreed that the album had to tell a story, and like so many times before in music the topic became love. the story they try to tell through the music on the album *takes two* is the story of a breakup, the denial of the need of love, and the discover of the fact that often in life it takes two, to be happy.

munk is the project of gomma label founder mathias modica (germanys most interesting electronic music label the nme). munk is best known for his collaborations with rebolledo from pachanga boys (surf smurf), james murphy lcd soundsystem (kick out the chairs), asia argento (live fast die old) and club hits like down in l.a. and la musica. he co- produced the albums of gomma bands whomadewho and moullinex.

thomass jackson is a new entry in the gomma crew. and he fits perfect: his style? outsider house - or lets call it: sex house! this shit is soo damn funky and spartanic at the same time - you want to go straight to make babies! thomass is part of the new vibrant mexico city electronic scene.
