in october 2016, members from the afro cuban band compro oro, funk and soul congregation big whoop and electronic duo sue avenue, submitted themselves to the windowless walls of the desolated buildings of the american theatre in brussels (be) to engage in experiment. the resulting nine hours and forty minutes of jams were edited and arranged to the final tracks on this carrier.

let s face it, summer in new york city is sweltering. even with all the windows open and fans on high, it is hard to find refuge in alliance upholstery s chinatown offices. today s sweat though, is due to the -dancer on the shore- ep, the latest release by the brooklyn based band, lemonade (cascine/true panther sounds). -dancer- is a subdued summertime collage of steel drums, buoyant electronic pads and windswept vocals. joined by dee dee from dum dum girls, it is a celebration of the space where humans and nature exist in harmony. originally released digitally as a single on cascine in 2015, the band created a dj friendly extended mix for this release. if you have been to the -air a dancer- party over the last few seasons, you have likely already heard it (sometimes twice in one night!).

australian synthesizer enthusiast, boogie revivalist and occasional house producer inskwel dons his rarely used cold chillin inkswel alias for this outing on marcel vogels lumberjacks in hell outfit. while the aussie producers disco and boogie influences can be heard on lemonade city, for the most part the ep is a house-centric affair. mercury retrograde melds a midtempo, head-nodding chugger out of backwards synth melodies and analogue sounding beats, while ompai delivers his usual, soft-focus blend of vintage synths and warm, floor-friendly bottom-end. theres a chunkier feel about the heavily filtered disco bump of lemonade city, while degrees in the shade moves from metronomic house throbber to sparse p-funk jacker in the blink of an eye

on the last various artists ep, we were seduced by the dutchmens music, it was clear for us to invite them for an exclusive ep. ivano is no doubt a one of the hottest new comers of the year, and were very happy to release his partner alex jansens 1st appearances on vinyl. 3 personal, inventive, emotional tracks, great work on textures of the sound definitely groovy as hell. varoslav gives here a more housy version for the dancefloor. expect to hear more from the guys in 2013!
