maps is a project by a london-based lithuanian drummer and producer, marijus aleksa. this labour of love is the culmination of many hours spent touring and in-session with some of the greats of londons bubbling contemporary jazz scene, resulting in marijuss first solo project to date. the ep combines elements of jazz, afrobeat and electronic music through free-form jamming and remixing, with movement and the dance floor firmly in mind.

a year from its inception, artesian sounds proudly presents ars002: a debut ep from emre can swim introducing his unique brand of dubby, atmospheric low-bpm house music.
envisioned as a visit to a distant island, the ep opens with ‘another shake’, greeting you as you come ashore with a warm and tranquil mood. with ‘golfclap’, you venture deeper into the mainland, the rainforest thickens and tribal dance ensues. flip the record and things wind back down with hazy after-hours groover ‘slide in deep’. finally, aleksandir makes it a family affair and joins the expedition with a remix, packed with juno melodies and and rhodes-tinged broken beats.

tessellate is back for a second round and this time they are bringing out some heat from turkey via aleksandir. the a side features two club ready tracks, starting with a euphoric and emotional journey by the name of yamaha. following that belgium’s asa moto slow things down and provide a wild and trippy acidic remake of the original.
flip the record over and you’ve got yourself some heavy chillers. dreams is a really dreamy (!) piece of work that is guaranteed to leave you relaxed. friend of tessellate seb wildblood steps up next to do what he does best and provide a lovely remix of the og. finally we close things off with deeptrak, which as the name suggests is a deep track.

originally released in 1986, nowa aleksandria caught brilliantly the cold, sultry atmosphere of the dark times of last years of communism in poland. influenced by british post punk heroes like joy division and killing joke the album represents nowdays one of the most important records in the history of polish rock.

another bunch of successful edits on the unstoppable tvpc label. it s fourth sampler (and already a seventh record in label history) covers a wide array of exceptional gems, spanning from balearic pop, through electro disco, to slavic soul and disco funk. all tracks come from the late 70s and early 80s poland and were carefully reworked by some of the finest young producers from the country, keen to pay homage to their musical roots.

mathias schaffhäusers fourth collection of remixes will be released in march and april 2015 in an exceptionally lavish way. two vinyl eps, each with an additional cd, will be released 4 weeks apart. the vinyls will feature the clubbiest tracks, which also will be on the cds (some of them in uncut original versions), flanked by a handful of more subtle and experimental tunes, making 17 tracks in all.
