following on from his rolling ep that dropped in january and featured the outstanding blue, an early contender for one of the strongest tracks of the year, julian jeweil drops the crisp intergalactic techno trip space
popof’s illustrious label form music is set to release a special vinyl only compilation showcasing some of the imprint’s most exciting artists entitled, ‘reformers’.
since its formation in 2009, form music has rapidly established itself as one of the most innovative and ambitious dance labels, working alongside both established and new artists including julian jeweil, sébastien léger, animal & me, mendo, philip bader, petar dundov, dj fronter and jay lumen as well as the label’s head honcho himself, popof.
kicking the four track package off is popof’s sublime rework of julian jeweil’s acclaimed dancefloor destroyer ‘chrome’, which is perfectly followed by the pounding drum-and-bass-tinged-techno workout ‘shadow tactics’, created by slovenia’s pioneering dj/producer umek.
julian jeweil’s ‘midi’ continues the release, seeing the talented frenchman utilising synths with real expertise and blending electronic nuances with melodic percussive elements to bring us nicely on to the compilation’s closing track, the deep and trippy tech house gem ‘slush fund’ by berlin-based simina grigoriu.
much may have changed over a two-decade period, but drumcodes commitment to releasing the scenes most cutting-edge and refined techno remains resolute. the label pushes forwards again in 2017 bringing fail-safe, club-ready music to the techno community. in the past 3 years, julian jeweil has released on highly regarded labels such as drumcode, minus and mobilee. one of the most consistent performers in the beatport techno chart, this prolific producer is as comfortable in the studio as he is in the booth, with his 2016 show s spanning five continents including an appearance at space for carl cox s final chapter, as well as london s egg and la s exchange. 2017s first drumcode release comes in the form of chart topping regular julian jeweil, who ll be putting out his first solo effort on the label. jeweils rolling ep showcases his skill as a producer and kicks off with the emphatic title track rolling . the perfect soundtrack for the early hours in the club, this sweaty affair proves just why hes at the top of the game right now. venice and blue illustrate his signature sound to a tee, with the eps final track traffic an acid-tinged behemoth, guaranteed to light up any set
this release is a collection of big names of the electronic music history, some of them are legends: pete tong & john monkman lead the list of big artists in this ep, they had produced the bumps a few months ago and now we can see the remixes of that track.
for the remix duties, suara is proud to have on board one of the biggest names of electronic music movement with more than 20 million albums sold, 8 songs in the uk singles chart, masterpieces like play or 18. the name of the remixer is moby, whom did a delicate and sophisticated deep house track for his debut on suara.
coyu is in the package too with a dancefloor, melodic, powerful interpretation of the original and julien jeweil did a really cool revision of the track in a techno way.
pushing back into max territory julian delivers his first full minus ep and challenges us to dont think. release your inahbitions and feel rather than think as you are consumed by frequencies both high & low and vibrations low and deep.
1st pressing of 500 copies in limited embossed sleeve & 180g vinyl! bubbling with melodic intention julians foundation of deep bass drives us all forward in repetitions that hold fast in our minds & memories.
though his techno surely makes you dance, julian jeweil also knows how to get the most of his studio equipment and colours his tracks with more than enough detail to keep your mind as active as your feet.
frenchman julian jeweils second ep on richie hawtins plus 8 label is sure to confirm jeweils status as one of technos most reliable talents. the four track ep encompasses everything jeweil has honed in his ten year plus career – tough sounds, high energy and a fusion of electro and minimal that hypnotises as much as moves you. thus far it has come on labels like cocoon and skryptöm records, whilst at the same time jeweil (real name julien bérard) has been busy playing underground parties all across his homeland.
for more than six years now, the dj and producer julian jeweil belongs to the up-n-coming electronic music scene in marseille, cultural centre of the french riviera. with his air conditionné ep on electric rescues skryptom label in 2006, he provided the scene with a true consensus hit, and further collaborations with and remixes for oxia, scan x, danton eeprom or sébastien léger have cemented his reputation as one of the most promising young talents in electronic dance music. his current ep for cocoon stands for uncompromising and demanding techno in its purest form: from the initially more sizzling sound layer in color emerges after two minutes in the first break a hysterically screaming >saw of sinus<, where you almost seem to hear the screams of the people echoing on the dancefloor. >amore< builds up more streamline-like in the style of steve bug, but: dont panic - you will also hear some really demanding breaks in this one. all the hands go up!
its 4 years that paul hadnt released any tracks (except remixes) on his own label but on and on is here to demonstrate that he hasnt lost his unique sense of vintage sound. a deep and melodic club tune! on the b side, we are very proud to offer 2killer remixes by a neighbour and a friend: julian jeweil. the strong bass line of the first vision makes it even more efficient than the original one. a must have for sure on this remix, julian jeweil added some crisp percussive elements with the mainmelodic theme behind that raise slowly but surely. this vision 2 will cause damage on the dancefloor.
busy french scene-climber julian jeweil presents a brand new electrifying offering for his debut on len fakis figure imprint. a resident of marseille, and a well known name amongst the french post-minimal-techno key players, jeweil is beginning to earn a name for himself far beyond the reaches of his home land. this insistent, rolling club destroyer is full of high quality attention to detail, thrilling fills, wild-pitch fx and an urgency that literally demands you to move. >my cat< is sure to be a winner amongst djs who have the confidence to really bear their claws...! instantly recognisable thanks to its immense pitching, hissing moments of climax and release, this cat is wild!..
julian jeweil after his huge hit >air conditionne< come back with a 4 tracks ep. 3 huge tracks made for burning each dance floor and a great danton eeprom remix. musst have for afu and electric rescue fans..
the true techno dream team of dubfire & oliver huntemann revisit their elements project from a few years ago with a new series of killer remixes, ahead of a retrospective album coming later in the year. terra - originally released in 2011, did all sorts of damage to dance-floors across the globe. now, its all set to do it again thanks to this joseph capriati remix. the italian techno headliner has grown into a major force on the scene in recent years, and here delivers a signature slice of muscular, driving techno - taut, dramatic and devastating. paired with a remix of the now seminal feugo julien jeweils remix also hits the spot - the track received a 2016 overhaul with some of jeweils signature flair. the frenchman has been a constant figure on the top of various charts and line ups for some time, and its easy to see why - fuego is stripped back machine funk primed for big systems and even bigger moments.
RESTORED EP 3 (MONOLOC, J.JEWEIL, COSMIC, JUSTIN JAMES RMX)(180 G VINYL)

originally released on richie hawtins minus label a decade ago, restore stands alone as houles very first long-player and helped to establish his penchant for the quirkier side of techno and his superlative production skills. spread across three 12inches & 11 tracks it encapsulated the dark, minimal, groove-driven sound purveyed by hawtin and the rest of the minus crew, while retaining a strong sense of houles unique character and identity. now its the perfect time to breath new life into an album that has stood the test of time, still utterly infectious and absorbing - a collection of music that captures an era of stripped back, yet captivating sounds. 10 years since its release, the album is getting the remix treatment and marc has called in some of the very best in techno talent to give restore a fresh makeover.
drumcode returns with its 6th installment of the internationally celebrated a-sides series. renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why beyer s brand continues to go from strength to strength. techno titan adam beyer has grown drumcode into a force to be reckoned with, the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world s number one techno label.
coyus remix for natural blues was just the prelude for our big hommage to one of the biggest pop and electronic music artists of the 90s, moby. we are proud to have this great bunch of remixes of some of the classic mobys anthems, with different options from deep house to techno, for a wide range of djs and music lovers. four awesome artists, victor ruiz, julian jeweil, reinier zonneveld and oxia deliver seven remixes of tracks like natural blues, go, porcelain and why does my heart feel so bad . enjoy the package!
reaching our 100th release seems surreal. i started it with 50 bucks and a defiant attitude to release music i felt wasn’t repped elsewhere. the label has grown into a renegade family, and worldwide techno brand. proud of every single achievement and mistake we have made, we felt it fitting to gather a selection of our favorite artists and showcase our vision on the current state of classic modern techno. here s to another 10000. octopus for life.
after a few months out of the vynil circuit elevate is proud to present the first of many va vinyls first off we have the monster remix of pig&dan s lizard king by the prolific julian jewell supported by plastic man richie hawtin and a dance floor weapon played by pig&dan in most of their sets belle is a dark trip into oblivion with a massive baseline that keeps chugging on till it breaks into a devilish distorted synth baseline that shocks but enchants the listener. next we have hantrace with its beautiful deep stab but pumping baseline the perfect main room track for late night produced by up and coming producer uakoz last but not least we jspr s redemption the complete techno track with a powerful motif that progresses as you inmerse yourself into this beautiful voyage that evolves keeping the audience focused and in a trance. we ve very carefully selected these tracks from various releases to make each track of this vynil mean something, enjoy :)
>bridging the gap between the old & the new, the minimal & the maximal, minmax represents a widening of scope as we explore the area between the sounds of classic minus & plus 8. as others subdivide and categorize we bring things back together, opening things up more freely and allow a closer connection to the music that i love and the sounds & textures that many of my dj sets journey through.< richie hawtin

the third instalment of the stil vor talent berlin compilation series brings forth a new gang of carefully selected artists, gathered under the umbrella of another underground berlin hotspot. kottbusser tor is undoubtedly the beating heart of kreuzberg, unashamedly pulsating 24/7 with the good, the bad and the ugly. theres no place quite like it, thanks to its raw charme. as always, music is the common denominator and oliver koletzki delivers the perfect soundtrack with this new release, while chrisse kunst renders the visual.
