PARAKEET FEET (HODGE, JEROME HILL REMIXES) (VINYL ONLY)
12" Vinyl UK04.11.15
slated for a vinyl only release, dusky invite hodge and jerome hill to remix the rolling techno of parakeet feet from their recent ordinary world ep. part of the livity sound collective, bristols hodge has been responsible for some of the most fresh and leftfield uk techno excursions in the past year or so. focussing on the originals talk to me sample, hodge drops a dark, twisted techno banger in his unique style. on the flip, underground legend jerome hill cranks out a raw, ravey acid house work out that builds and builds with a dynamic surge of screaming, layered 303s
currently causing quite a stir on the underground, the jerome hill remix of marshall jeffersons s trax classic lost in the groove is a complete re-interpretation, solid jacking (hard) house music using the original vocal that s cut loud onto the vinyl and worms inside your head and has been doing serious damage in the clubs and festivals last year. now with all licensing and red tape cleared away, it s set for release. dancer boom boom is actually a collaboration between acid legend adonis and sidney winters, with a mix down by house legend frankie knuckles. this sat on the b side of am a dog on trax records and is rare & obscure to say the least, but once the needle touches the groove you know it s a killer. massive kick drums and mysterious organ scales, this one is a mad mad tune ! produced in 1987 (and sounding like nothing else from that year) it s been given a very slight and very respectful re-arrangement by jerome hill, remastered and cut super loud. strictly limited and if the previous titles on the label are anything to go by, this one will sell out equally quick.
super rhythm trax follows up mike ashs immense return to acid ep with another smasher. with a slew of releases due to drop on some very respected labels in the coming months, djs dj, jerome hill steps up and serves up 3 tracks of pure groove acid music. owner over at dont recordings and fat hop, jerome zones in on that ultra-vibe and takes you back whilst keeping you up to date in a style all of his own. never one to release music for the sake of it, paper bag acid is finally seeing a vinyl release after being tried and tested extensively on the airwaves of londons finest rinse and kool fm and in the clubs and festivals over the summer. this ones a killer!
rippling with slow-paced funk and with starry-eyed soul, double hill returns to gadi mizrahis vinyl only imprint double standard this time with fellow israeli and co-producer jerome c for the stellar >i need love ep<.
super rhythm trax is excited to unveil their brand new side label. bleeper, which will concentrate on a slightly tougher strain of techno. the first four releases are in production and will be enough to give you a strong idea of where the label will be going! first out of the gate are ford foster (unknown to the unknown/opal tapes) and frankie castle with bounce that, an ingenious ghetto house jam with a serious twist, backed with a jerome hill remix that strips the whole thing down leaving the bare ingredients to do damage on the dancefloor. also included are an instrumental version of the original, and the slo mo banger shake that.
killekill megahits ii is a jubilee release. but it s not only that. it s also milestone and turning point in the killekill history, because with this release killekill closes one chapter, and opens up another. we will start several new labels over the next months, so this is a hello and a goodbye release - looking back and forward at the same time. the full compilation got a lot of coverage and the tour was very successful, and so we will release the records as single releases as well. part 2 is chicago-inspired and is jacking like a rabbit.
killekill catalogue number 025 is a jubilee release: its killekill megahits ii. but its not only a jubilee release. its also milestone and turning point in the killekill history, because with this release killekill closes one chapter, and opens up another.
super rhythm trax is back this time with italian producer g-23 (secret rave) who delivers 2 monstrous slabs of mongrel acid music. -kidding kids- is an ultra fresh beast of a track that sits comfortably outside classification, melding acid with a super heavy breakbeat and peppered with uk garage references. -mountain s acid- goes for a straight up 4/4 acid track with a deep bubbling acid line that hooks you early and keeps you locked throughout, while on the b side label boss jerome hill is on remix duties turning in a tweaky, tracky acid version of mountain s acid with heavy bottom end and funked up drums. support from: blawan, seth troxler, matthew herbert, serge (clone), josh wink, truncate, j.tijn, dmx krew, warlock, hackman, phil kieran, dj tlr, alan fitzpatrick, tom findlay (groove armada), shadow child, eomac, john heckle, dj deep, stenny
vectors 2 introduces another five new artists to the power vacuum roster: side one erupts with vacated, flinging heavyweight techno ingot *quadrat* neatly into ones medulla oblongata. a road tested club shredder, crashing straight in and out while unequivocally touching the sides. one of uk dance musics true mammoths jerome hill promptly receives the baton and lays down atypical workout *plastic jam*, an overbearingly energetic percussion / vocal rinse. on the other side, cosmic event cylob weighs in with *spyworld*. libidinal bass patterns, irresistible melodies and not a wasted note from one of electros most powerful minds. breakaway civilization of one: anklepants follows with *y.h.i.y.p.* after receiving a free bintus makeover - electro style. finally cornwallis spoken word effluvium *at the disco*, a charmingly rancid personal account to which the prancing oaf in each of us can surely relate.
great dont techno 4 tracker... new moves from cursor, ben pest & jerome hill ... cursor miner has built a solid reputation over the years for being a free thinker in the world of techno, breaks and bass music, and here for dont he delivers the massive >nonon<. with early support from perc, the track has to be heard to understand... it lures you into a trance then thunderous spastikesque drums pummel the listener into submission. in one word, classic. plus you get palinki, a warped techno bouncer. on the flip, another freethinker, ben pest treats us to >yam um sugli<, with deranged synths and drums practically oozing funk, this sounds like nothing else on the planet.. which is what dont is all about! finally, label boss jerome hill steps up to give a reworking to the aptly named >rumbler<, an intense techno bruiser!
autonation s sit on the bass was released on esteemed label r&s , 18 years ago in 1991.. (shit! was it really 18 years ago??)
autonation kindly agreed to a re-release two years ago after a meeting in a pub in ladbroke grove. sit on the bass has been a mainstay of label boss jerome hill s sets since it s release all those years ago and still sounds relevent and rocks crowds today.
autonation is none other than seasoned producer dave campbell who over the years has released a vast body of techno, drum n bass, and ambient music under the aliases kibu, hiryze, xtro, greenback and of course autonation on labels such as rising high, certificate 18, r&s, cue and guy called gerald s juicebox.
its an absolute techno classic, but not one of the obvious ones that get rolled out for every old skool back to the 90 s set.. so get on board and be in the know before everyone gets on it!!
jerome hill steps up for the remix on the b-side utilising some fierce rumbling sub bass and keeping the energy levels on 11 for the dancefloor..
this release has been cut super loud and is the first 2-tracker on don t for just this reason.
again the tracks were selected carefully, each of them strong on personality and waiting to burst out and put the willies up anyone who believes that techno can be pigeonholed. cue bjorn svin (of mand over board fame) and a brooding monster of a tune that briefly saw a release on his excellent 1999 lp benene pa nakken and was included on the la monde (aka len fakis) at the wheels of steel mix cd the following year. believe that this track is a killer one of those inspired pieces of techno that sticks in your head for days after hearing it for the first time next up label boss jerome hill lets his bass out in the comedic rel und pol, a dancefloor workout with a syncopated speech running throughout. flip over for rob stow and im going to kill her put simply this is nasty (in a nice way) a riff that tears you a new one and edits and tricks galore, this ones gonna give the speakers a battering! last but certainly not least, switzerlands ki yota from mercurochrome and mental industries steps up to deliver us an apocalyptic anthem with wowwow bass, that swiss percussion and lead riffs all snaking around, finally building to a satisfying climax over and out
another full blown rave up from the label that proves that wonky can be not only fun, but also successful! last releases have all sold like hot cakes, and if you check out the tracks on here its easy to see why. quality genre-smashing bombs through and through, all that is required here is a bit of imagination. if youve got 7 zillion tracks to choose from on your laptop, why play all the same ones as everyone else? club killers everyone, from mustard gunn vs onkens humanoid esque take no prisoners to the onkens rave break attack of possession of ganja, and from the stomping hoover frenzy of lukes angers clodhopper to jerome hills hardcore sample a thon tickle the bee (a tribute).open your mind and get sick!!!
