jasss is an outstanding sound artist and dj (playing resident at the mannequin records night in berlin). raw and pure, she returns with an instant-classic second single for death of the machines. es complicado is a percussive a-side driven track, a passionate industrial/futuristic wink to the past, while ‘no chanche’ on the b side is opening a new path for her productions. the mind sick samples from the 1966 bergmans masterpiece persona leave the track - as the movie itself does - in a climax wrapped by a variety of interpretations, moving from tribal new beat rhythms and ending into an acid nightmare. tip!
jasss debuts on mannequin records for the death of the machines series with a killer 3 track mix of ebm/industrial & wave on this heavy 12inch. perfect for the most abrasive dancefloors. mastered by rude 66. highly recommended!
lena willikens is the kind of artist whos only capable of following one path her own. in many ways, shes the archetypal selector, an unpredictable dj who often eschews all notions of genre in favor of what she describes as different temperatures, different time zones, different moods and a healthy portion of chaos. although her methods have certainly proven effective on the dancefloor, willikens also refuses to be bound by its traditional limitations.
gravitational waves forges ahead in what promises to be distinct form with the second release by the labels founder, the shadowy dj nephil. the ep features four moody stompers by this underground stalwart, with a remix from the phenomenally talented jasss. all are for the roughest of venues, a foray into ominous soundscapes.
