mysterious newcomer jamie blanco displays a clear skill in assembling the kind of raw, atmospheric late 80’s chicago house so close to our hearts - the kind of late night jams which can just as easily roll in and out of string drenched disco cuts as they can moments of strobe-lit intensity. beautifully executed, and another sureshot from cynic!

not an animal records was formed in 2015 out of the ashes of the london-based party bad passion, and has thus far welcomed the likes of man power, ess o ess and eric duncan to release on the label. now they turn to james hadfield, a relatively new producer previously spotted on to rack & ruin and me me me. on this four-tracker he deals in brooding synthwave tones mixed with classic jack track rhythms. literate is just the kind of taut, sinister club creeper we can t get enough of, while buried answers takes a skippier but no less moody approach. on the remix front, jamie blanco takes the prize, turning buried answers- into a bombastic slice of driving synth pop.

the first in a series from pelvis records, dj tools volume 1 features an all-australian lineup of artists across 6 tracks. varying in tempo and moods, this first round comes courtesy of sam weston, mall grab, chunyin, body corp, jamie blanco and pelvis. from flat out percussion jams to four-to-the-floor acid, these are tracks to get you out of tight spots (or take you deeper into them).

soooo here we are with the tenth and final release, thought it would be nice to finish on a nice zen like number, so this is a extra special release kind of a mini lp almost -opened up by fx mchn flush the trush is an intro to the comp and a reverse funk skittish affair next up is new man on the block for us here we been sitting on a collection of his tracks but felt this one complemented this ep the most, ecco foul, gloss is a sleazy machine groove that does t do much but thats just the way we like it .then comes mr facade with his jerky funk sweet surprises and warm melodies. the b side is opened by another newcomer from running back record hugh mane new age dawns whose track come s deep and wide open has to be heard on the headphones as well as the club jamie blanco s chord arrangments get opened up and spaced out by lht office boy toby tobias in a detroitesque ditty thats been used to open a few sets in 2015 already and finally alphonse delivers an out and out machine jam with the usual dub influence brought in vocal fashion.

lht 009 is here with the second installment of jamie blancos unknown reason as the a side, the original mix which creates a moment of late night drama for dancers, fx mchn makes a welcome return with his trademark dark eerie sound, rolling mutating crispy beats and weird vocal samples, then its a newcomer to lht, old friend of the label dan clark as in his late night audio production guise utilises the vocal skills of a local hackney girl and adds them to a proper shuffling beat and super deep bassline, and finally mainstay facade brings us one of his best pieces of work yet with a stunning slow analogue house workout that goes way deep with added dub delay fx warm chords and arpeggiating bassline

a1 facade - tampa bay is tried and tested house weapon that we ve had since the label began waiting for the right fit, he comes with his garage beats, deep chords and infectious melodies - simple, driving, effective.
a2 prima - dont stop - lht label co partner delivers a twisted mutating late night tool that instructs you to dont stop dancing til the sun has well and truly risen or at least the smoke has cleared.
b1 jamie blanco - unknown reason (alphonse drum prequel) - jamie met alphonse in the studio again, they messed with his track and got the dub machine working overtime on the 808, look out for main mix on the next release.
b2 kruton - lagoon - the sleeping giant here on b2, kruton is not be messed with, he channels a certain mr atkins here and delivers a dream machine opus.

the idea behind lbl is very simple. we keep getting sent music that we really want to own on vinyl, so weve decided to start pressing these tracks ourselves. everything we have scheduled has a club feel, but past that we think youd be hard pushed to pinpoint a specific style which dominates our releases. for our first release we have music from scott fraser (crimes of the future), people get real (join our club), jamie blanco (ess o ess) and joonipah (nixwax). we could list a whole load of meaningless genres to describe the music to you (machine house, neu acid, bashment techno and hi tek soca) but we think its best you just listen and make your own mind up. currently, all lbl releases will be limited to a pressing run of 300 copies

after some great response from 005 we seem to have a little groove on here and we are ready 006 with what might be my personal favorite ep so far, i find it very hard to choose a favorite here - i hope you do too!

after appearances in the last 12 months across world unknown, lets play house, endless flight and futureboogie, geordie trouble starters last waltz add tusk wax to their canon of labels with the first of two releases. the usual hand stamped, individually numbered, weighty 180g vinyl factors are present and correct yet there is still room for the concluding chapter in the sleeve. the thrusting, lusting glamour things isnt shy, pairing motorboat arpeggios with satisfyingly weighty drums, whilst the detuned tipping the gulf tumbles along with a certain lopsided glee. an accompanying jamie blanco remix ramps up the originals lead synths with decidedly epic cosmic results, whilst beholden (part 1) sees last waltz play with the work of foals in calming, cosmiche fashion.

the next instalment, we feature artists from the growing lht family jamie blanco opens the record with his accomplice sam mensah on singin duties - jamie and alphonse worked in the studio together on this version we think will appeal to fans of real house music next up is bintus of power vacuum with his first original track on lht and theres no messing about - raw acid and stripped drums and at a pace that we can dance too, label boss alphonse opens side b with a deep 808 jam and this is followed by lht studio wizz facade who finishes with another piece of what can only be described as big.

mysteryland takes place saturday august 27th at the beautiful fields from floriade. with a total of 18 areas mysteryland can be considered as the largest dance festival in the netherlands. the mother of all dance festivals is still leading after more than seventeen years! this mixed double album gives a good reflection of the music and line-up of this year s edition. where cd1 contains the more popular dance styles, big name artists and club hits, cd2 takes you to the more underground and edgy side of the festival. so whatever your taste is , this mixed compilation gives you a little piece of mysteryland 2011 not to forget.
