staub comes back on wax for a third episode. following the no name policy from the parties which started 5 years ago in ://about blank, it is time again for unknown artist to shine. this new ep sees the shy producer appearing on 4 tracks of pristine techno. a1 is an atmospheric trip while a2 is more brutal, on the b side it is going weirder and darker. we think unknown artist tries to craft interesting techno cuts and that he loves variety. that it is the idea behind staub since its beginnings, it does not matter whether you are a newcomer or lady gaga, what matters is the quality of the music. this is what was again aimed with this third record.

this is the new release by berlin based techno duo i/y. the music is part of an interdisciplinary project between the international artist collective exc and i/y which included an exhibition in a downstairs parking lot, the publication of the artistbook -pxrkxnglxt 2- together with the novel -raum in einem raum- by exc-co-founder eric keil and a short unmoved silent film for which i/y did the soundtrack. this soundtrack now comes as an exclusive vinyl release along with an inlay artist edition, showing the dark scenery where the- film- takes action... the artist book and the novel are published on rhein verlag and will also be distributed as a special edition together with the record at papierundgelb.de.

berlin-based dj and techno producer savas pascalidis has been steadily making his mark in underground electronic music circles since his first releases in the mid-90s. born in south germany and later moved to berlin, the well-traveled dj has been among the restless and classically minded members of the dance music community over the last decades. he developed skills that led him into producing records and made a name for himself with a series of dark, loopy and groove driven dancefloor orientated techno music. pure and simple. his releases earned him a reputation for being something of a dance music purist.

dotwav returns to their own konflkt imprint with insanity. both i/y and cadency aka hector oaks reshape the originals into individual sound concepts rounding off a complex four-track ep.
heading straight towards peak time insanity sets the pace. the raw yet punchy destination that follows on from a hypnotic synth exploration receives a deep tripped-out remix treatment from berlin-based duo i/y. distance ventures into an emotive dimension that channels melancholy and anticipation into a compelling techno ballad. charging the b-side with urgent heat, cadency transforms dotwav s composition into a sustained power house for the floor.

that night, we answered a regular call, something about crazy loud noises coming out from a basement. while driving to the area all i could think when i first heard the bass stomping was: “man, whatever, this doesn t even sound like music to me.” and we were at least a 100 meter away from the source of the sound. when we got there, after knocking several times on the door, we decided we had more than enough probable causes to bust in. after a warning, we kicked the door open. what we saw inside was a five feet tall woman jumping around in that cacophony. we screamed and she ignored us, my colleague then panicked and shot her with his taser several times – she then simply pulled the probes out of her body shouting moments moments – and continued to jump around..

the second release of inkblots involves three great artists deeply active into the international techno scene: the japanese go hiyama and the berlin based duo i/y. on side a, go hiyama’s first track ‘recur’ delivers sinister atmospheres matched with a tough kick and industrial bleepy elements. slow and paranoic drones get in and out contributing to enlarge the sound perception. the second track ‘prop’ introduces elegant hi-hats and strident synths. a captivating kick perfectly embraces the shrill synths waving together with the sharp drum, what remains of the first side is just tense ambients, forewarning the journey is not over. side b smells like a dark club firing up, indeed i/y’s aim is not different at all. ’thesys 0000.001’ debuts with a thin bassline and distorted grave surroundings. the track evolves with clean slap hats sound in an empty echo chamber. deep timbres rise and fall, turning the entire route gently aggressive. the second track is an idm experiment which keeps a trippy approach and the clarity of claps and hi-hats. solid as the first one, ‘thesys 0000.003’ sets itself as an hypnotic but pleasant moment where suspicious fragments quickly appear and disappear: a sparkled trip to be enjoyed anytime but not by anyone.

call it whatever you want. we think of it simply as techno music. deep, raw, mystical and industrialesque music that makes you think about your desires and gives you the illusion of clearing away time and space. having lived in almost all corners of the world, it took nothing more than finding themselves in berlin, a dose of random chance and a barside conversation for irakli and yacoub to figure out they had similar views about music - and so, i/y was born. i/y 001 is a three track intense journey into the depths of techno.

10 years ago the29nov films was started in a small village in southern germany. thousands of videos and millions of views later sebastian kökow and kevin paschold have become one of the most sought after video producers in electronic music - mostly for industrial-leaning techno, but also for all other kinds of electronic music. to celebrate their 10th anniversary the29nov has finally gathered a few of their favourite artists and they all have contributed to a compilation, which will be released on 2 double 12-es, one out in november 2016, the other one to follow soon.
