dies ist eine sehr persönliche auswahl von stücken, die wir bei habibi funk lieben gelernt haben. es handelt sich um musik, die historisch gesehen nie als einheitliches musikgenre existiert hat. wir denken, dass es wichtig ist, diese unterscheidung zu treffen und den hörer verstehen zu lassen, dass der großteil der musik auf dieser compilation nicht von den sehr berühmten namen des musikalischen spektrums nordafrikas und des nahen ostens stammt. stattdessen besteht das für diese platte zusammengestellte gesamtwerk aus einigen - zumindest für uns - nischenhaften perlen und oft übersehenen künstlern.
